Im looking at buying a marauder for sale that needs a head gasket. The guy says he was told it needed one when he got it and thats about all he knows he never touched it or did anything with it. Not sure if its one of those things that nobody wants to touch or its not a big deal. Its a 03 SB with 80k

I saw the car you are referring to on Facebook.

I’ve replaced the heads in my Marauder, while in there you would want to inspect everything and replace the timing components.

It’s always a crapshoot buying someone else’s problem. This car has changed hands a few times now.

Always assume the worst... Plan for a new engine if it dropped a valve. If it were only a head gasket it would at least start if it’s not hydro locked.

Ok well I think I will go down and look at it. He also has a aviator motor that has 112k on it. I had a pretty good laugh when I saw the title on the add saying "2003 Ford Marauder"

Yes, clearly doesn’t know too much about the car.

Is this the silver birch with 80k and the seat and steering wheel look like 180k?

Engine is currently out of the car? I would carfax it, I guarantee that car has more than 80k on it
