Ok so I’ve made a bunch more progress as of today
and I’m pretty happy with the progress so far.

http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv45/Markd20000/2003%20Mercury%20Marauder/1888E7ED-9ECD-4002-AA90-AC1BF07D7755_zps1yosxm1j.jpg (http://s668.photobucket.com/user/Markd20000/media/2003%20Mercury%20Marauder/1888E7ED-9ECD-4002-AA90-AC1BF07D7755_zps1yosxm1j.jpg.h tml)

I have not figured everything out yet though. So any help with the following questions is greatly appreciated!

First question: Does the routing of this wire seem correct? Also, the bolt I painted the same color as the timing cover, is something supposed to bolt there?

http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv45/Markd20000/2003%20Mercury%20Marauder/159D61D4-388F-4675-BF15-0BB3352BE259_zps4zrq2kqy.jpg (http://s668.photobucket.com/user/Markd20000/media/2003%20Mercury%20Marauder/159D61D4-388F-4675-BF15-0BB3352BE259_zps4zrq2kqy.jpg.h tml)

I guess that was two questions, so question three: Where is this supposed wire supposed to go? There’s a few studs it could reach, timing cover or cam cover, which is correct?

http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv45/Markd20000/2003%20Mercury%20Marauder/735B4584-35C3-48A2-B7BE-8A5C1F08C5F5_zpsv22x8vvu.jpg (http://s668.photobucket.com/user/Markd20000/media/2003%20Mercury%20Marauder/735B4584-35C3-48A2-B7BE-8A5C1F08C5F5_zpsv22x8vvu.jpg.h tml)

Question four, other than the missing PCV coolant line, anything seem wrong or out of place? I think everything is right as far as I can tell.

http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv45/Markd20000/2003%20Mercury%20Marauder/8A827307-BE49-4558-8C79-35E8FA030B0A_zpsiysufbng.jpg (http://s668.photobucket.com/user/Markd20000/media/2003%20Mercury%20Marauder/8A827307-BE49-4558-8C79-35E8FA030B0A_zpsiysufbng.jpg.h tml)

Question six, does the harness seem to be routed properly behind the heads?

http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv45/Markd20000/2003%20Mercury%20Marauder/F810D426-09EA-4F27-A23B-D0A464846F4B_zpsmgrumwjr.jpg (http://s668.photobucket.com/user/Markd20000/media/2003%20Mercury%20Marauder/F810D426-09EA-4F27-A23B-D0A464846F4B_zpsmgrumwjr.jpg.h tml)

http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv45/Markd20000/2003%20Mercury%20Marauder/1476A751-9226-4F94-A071-EE63FB0ED6C4_zpslrr2kjqe.jpg (http://s668.photobucket.com/user/Markd20000/media/2003%20Mercury%20Marauder/1476A751-9226-4F94-A071-EE63FB0ED6C4_zpslrr2kjqe.jpg.h tml)

Question seven, what is this bracket?

http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv45/Markd20000/2003%20Mercury%20Marauder/1F706FE7-D68B-4221-8A60-1883E1546D69_zpsvbaigyzs.jpg (http://s668.photobucket.com/user/Markd20000/media/2003%20Mercury%20Marauder/1F706FE7-D68B-4221-8A60-1883E1546D69_zpsvbaigyzs.jpg.h tml)

Last question! No picture, sorry! :D How is the starter wire supposed to be routed? Anyone have a picture of it? The wiring has a metal bracket attached but I can’t recall if/where it mounted. I have SW longtubes if that makes a difference

I fully recognize some of these are likely stupid questions so the rule is as long as you help and answer a question you can make fun of me all you like :D

Pic 2 ? That ilet ground and battery ground go to the timing cover stud,... I just did the big 3 cable upgrade and that's where my ground was

Harness looks decent... did you need pics?

You might just have the ground there, this car had the harness opened and 2 ground ilets added... lmk

In picture number 2 the bolt you painted is for the heater core return line. that's Steel. you don't need it if you don't have it. you can just run a longer hose to your crossover tube.

I deleted the stock crossover so it looks like that bolt can stay right where it is, thanks!

Someone else said that eyelet goes to the timing cover as well so that question is answered, thanks!

I got a bunch of pics today from a member so for now I’m good until I get out to work on it again.

Thanks!

The bracket goes over the egr where it enters the upper intake to protect the wires above it. A heat shield, kinda.
See that one open thread stalk on the upper intake, back by the washer cowl. that is one of its mounts.

Engine bay looks good.

Is that paint or powder coat?

Cooling mod looks like one of mine.

Means a lot coming from you, thanks!

I just scuffed up the upper and lower intake and hit it with aluminum paint. The cam covers are VHT wrinkle black. It’s not show quality but great for a driver!

The cooling fittings are just the ON3 fittings with brass 90 degree barb fittings from Fastenal. Rear of the passenger side head is feeding the HC and the rear of the D/S Head is what runs to the thermostat housing. I feel really good about the setup.
