Hi everyone!

I have an interesting issue with my 03's A/C. When I first got the car, the A/C worked fine, then it sat for a few months, Ford did the LCM recall, and I swapped it to a 5 speed. Now the A/C doesn't work.

-The problem: When the EATC is turned on, the battery icon comes on the cluster, the compressor does not cycle and the blower motor only blows on the highest setting.

-Diagnosis so far: the freon pressure is good. Traced the wiring with my 03 shop manual, and the only thing I've found is Pin 2 on the A/C clutch relay which comes directly from the PCM does not switch to ground when the EATC is switched to A/C, if I supply a constant ground to Pin 2 the compressor comes on and the A/C works great. (Also, willing to accept the blower motor issue is just the resistor because I haven't even looked into the blower yet, but didn't know if it might have any affect over the compressor)

Any ideas on what should be signalling the PCM to switch from 12v to ground? It's pin 69 on the PCM if that helps.

Thanks in advance!

Did Ford replace the LCM or hack the wiring to the LCM? If they hacked the wiring it should be reversed and a repaired LCM installed.

BTW... I repair LCMs.

As FBM alluded to above, the LCM "recall" is actually a hack-job, with many spliced wires. It's possible they damaged something with the EATC wiring.
