Read previous thread on topic. Drivers side front suddenly stopped working. No noise, no issue. Switch feels "faint or light.

Super clean low mile interior/exterior.

Will check for dome light/ power to switch, and beat on outside door while activating switch.

My window recently became inop, one good smack on the door panel and all is well.

GOOD SMACK fixed the issue. Sorry for the two threads, AND THANK YOU to all who replied to help. The door open, key on {car off} advice to try switch and watch for Dome light to dim slightly indicating power to the switch/ switch power was classically brilliant. THANK YOU.

Smiled my ears off that it worked perfectly again immediately after.

Now that you got it up, can you keep it up? [emoji6]

Dealing with a similar issue. Window went down but won't come up. When I hit the down button the light dims but when I hit the up button nothing happens. I have the door panel off and the switch panel in my hand. I have taken the switch apart to expose the contacts but they look fine.

Suggestions on how to get the window up for now so I can work on this later would really be appreciated.

Ugh. Take the door panel off , reconnect the switch then tap near the window motor with a hammer lightly while you hit the switch. I assume this Is the Drivers door window...if it's another window make sure child lock switch is not activated...test the switch contacts while hitting the switch using an ohm meter with the switch disconnected.

OMG... This thread ressurected, and my Red Sled passenger window is now in-op as of this AM.

Will do all of this again today.

While waiting on replies I tore into the switch assembly. I wasn't getting the slight dome light dimming when trying to raise the drivers window. After messing with the contacts a bit and reassembling the switch the window now goes up again. What a pain in the butt. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come.

My driver side rear passenger window wasn't working the other day. Kept pushing the button. Pushed the button on the rear door too. Eventually, it broke lose and the window operates normally now. I think it was just gummed up from dirt etc and not having been rolled down in so long.

Fixed the Red Sled inop window today after this thread reappeared. So bizarre, I had completely forgotten about this fix.

Weird terminator back in time, into the future fix, with this thread reappearing the day before my window stops when working.

What you could have done is removed the wire to the window motor, and flipped the polarity of the 2 wires. So when you hit DOWN the window goes UP.
For temporary purpose / rain etc

I'll keep that in mind for future issues.

Thank you.

kick out the glass. Clean area. Install canvas roll with latch hooks on upper door.
Solved.

Spraying NAPA silicone spray in the door window track (inside the felts) helps a lot, keeps the motor from having to strain pushing that window up the track.

Around the inside edge of door where window stops (all the way up?) or inside edge inside door?

I'd use a dry lubricant so it doesn't collect dirt.

inside edge inside door. I think if you use the wet kind the solvent evaporates, leaving the thin film of silicone. Don't spray this in the garage if you are then doing painting nearby (fisheye city)
