Hey all,
I need to purchase a cap for where the EGR tube would bolt on to my stainless works long tube headers. Where can I buy one? Links or technical specs would be appreciated. Thank you.

Also. I read people talking about how difficult it is to change the starter with long tubes. What all will I have to do? Is it really that bad? Reason I ask is I installed the longtubes when the motor was outside of the car and plopped the whole thing in. Eventually I need to reinstall the starter

It's not hard to remove the starter with SW's.

It's a 5/8" flare cap. I used a brass one from Menards. Not fancy but it works.

How do you get away with no EGR in California?

Until CA Smog check is performed, he is fine. Besides, SW headers are not legal in CA.

Thanks all. Yes I have a couple months before I have to worry about smog. At which time I will completely restore it to stock

Whatever the thread is, the 5/8" brass flare fitting works

Metric, but apparently others have managed to walk the 5/8 on? Brass is soft and will re thread itself fine probably. I’m a Plumber so I’m picky about my threads LOL
I cut off the old tube at the nut and welded a dime to it because I’m cheap. [emoji1303]
Ain’t got no time for no $20 nuts. [emoji6]

gotcha. And honestly I would consider doing the same if I hadn't stripped the egr nut in the first place lol!

Buy the cap, cut the tube. Drill hole in cap, have tube welded. Done

Do you have a tune from MartyO? If so, he states you need the EGR in place for his tune to work. Else, he must create a tune with EGR delete.
