i used the z-14 plastic cleaner on my clock face, radio, and shift letters bezel thing. I did as said, left it on, buffed it off and now it seems like i have more sratches there then before. Has anyone else used this stuff?

it is a 'non-abrasive' but is supposed to get sratches out not put them in.

Hey Dude,

I've used it in the interior too. same results.

Then I looked at the bottle, it says ya can't use it on any porous surface. So I looked closer at the console,... yup,.. it's porous, even if it's hard to see.

I went back to Armor-All for that. But, the Zaino tire cleaner works fairly well too!

too bad a guy named Griot can't be talked into being a vendor here
but I will chime in...being obsessive/detailed oriented/semi-perfectionist

first of all...what did you wipe it with

nothing but 100% cotton should touch it
CLEAN COTTON
when you wipe a surface like paint or plastic
you may wish to wet wash and/or blow away particles
that could act as "sand" for your "paper"
I even go so far as to not use fabric softener...just in case

also, regardless of instructions
leaving it dry rather than wiping when wet
will create more of a chance for scratches

OPTION II

it could now be so clean that you see scratches that were
hidden before (unlikely)

BOTTOM LINE

be more careful next time
and use a scratch filling wax that is friendly to plastic
(non-petroleum distillate formula)

eyeglass and better yet, CAMERA lens care products are the way to go

Only way to clean plastics.

I've sworn by this stuff for years.

I used it to clean the scratches out of a heavily scratched rear tailight assembly on my fathers '95 Cobra. Looks brand new.

One small bottle of each level (total of about $25) will last a few years.
