Well, I FINALLY received both headlights that I bought online. Took them to the Ford dealer to get put on the car. I was expecting that everything would be finished and the lights would just have to go in. Wrong.
They haven't touched the car. They claim that some of the body parts aren't available. This is all plastic or fiberglass stuff surrounding the grill. These are the part numbers that they say cant be found:
3W3Z17F798AA Right energy absorber
3W3Z17F799AA Left energy absorber
3W3Z17757AA A/M Impact Bar
3W3Z17A385AAA License plate bracket
3W3Z8190AA A/M front panel
4W3Z8200AAA A/M Grille Marauder Ebony

At least the bumper itself is OK.
Any leads on finding this stuff?
Zack, I told her to save the old headlights for me. Hopefully they will remember.
Thanks again, guys.

Would you have better results at a body shop?

can use crown vic energy absorbers if you mean the impact strips behind bumper cover, just have to trim it. no oem marauder grille avail. discontinued, must use aftermarket, ebay has them, if header panel crunched, can use 03-05 grand marquis, try car-part.com. i dont see why 03-05 grand marquis body parts are not interchangeable .

Most marauder specific parts are obsolete and discontinued, cars being parted out may help. check parts for sale section

Hate to say it, but it’s sounding more and more like I need to get rid of this car. It’s only going to get harder to find parts in the future.

I had similar issues. Found some parts through CertiFit.

Thanks for the tips. I found two of the parts at a local Certifit outlet, and the grill on eBay. Now I have to see if the Ford dealer will source those items from sources that they might not normally get them from.

try those part numbers thru tascaparts.com, they are a huge ford dealer in Rhode Island, they dont always update their site meaning it might say available but you get email saying it is not.

every single one of those items are available one way or the other, either aftermarket or by being creative. You can get the header panel from certi-fit too. The license plate bracket can be from a crown vic etc. - it looks the same from the front just a little bit different curvature but most work fine - they have been obsolete for a long time. Maybe a member here may still have one if they live in a state without front plates. And look at this recent thread to learn what to do for the front bumper

aftermarket header panels fit poor, better finding used grand marquis 03-05 header panel

4W3Z8200AAA A/M Grille Marauder Ebony

when did our cars come in ebony? sounds like a lazy uninformed and educated shop to me. remember just because its a dealer doesnt mean anything anymore except double the price. I just dropped 2500 to get my front and rear bumpers fixed and resprayed they had holes in them and cracks was I shocked no why because our cars are limited production to start with and second its been so long since they were made I didnt expect there to be anything left in the nos parts bin. If you own a marauder you got to understand its getting older every year and as such you will have to work and love them 2 times as much as another car.

Now the latest. Repairs to cost $3,000-4,000. All minor body work. Insurance company wants to total car. Now the fight begins.

Insurance generally wants to totals cars, when repair value exceeds 60 to 70% of value. Go online and see wbat similiar mileage, condition cars are listed for. Dont settle on their first offer either if they wont repair. Another option is to see what tbey will pay and pay difference yourself.

Recent experience with AAA - ~$7,000 for collision repair - LH front fender, headlight, corner light + wiring(s), tire, hood, bumper, header panel, grille, windshield, various sundry associated parts. Had full coverage and vehicle (2003 Crown Victoria LX Sport, 130,000 miles) was repaired with no deductible. *Wasn't at fault.
