I have a road runner high stall torque converter in my Marauder. The first time I put it in I noticed the studs were not reaching far enough through the flexplate holes. I was worried. I actually pulled the torque converter forward, maybe less than half an inch to seat the studs through the holes and put the nuts on. Is this BAD? The car drove fine like that for 10k miles. No leaks explosions anything. I have the car a part at the moment and want to know what I should do. Longer studs? I’m using the bolts that road runner provided. They look the same length as the stock converter. Or is it okay to have this very slight less than half inch difference? Any experts can chime in? It was fine before but I don’t know...this torque converter is advertised as a drop in replacement for the 4r70w.

That is normal. I have a stock torque converter it is it exactly as you described with your aftermarket one.

That’s what you want for a properly seated convertor.
