Can you describe the noise and when it occurs?

You can hear it all the time it's from when you step on the gas and know that up on the gas it's a whining noise if your steady about 60 it's not as bad but it's constantly there it sounds like the same noise before I got the rear end on a couple years ago

Bad U-Joints generally make a clunk when shifting from park to drive or reverse,

Yeah I know that's why I thought when the shop said there might be a U-joint I didn't believe them so I'm going to put the new joints in and if it's still there I'm going to bring it back to him cuz it has a free lifetime powertrain warranty

They looked at the rear end but didn't diagnose the noise?!?

Me thinks it's time to find a new shop... :shake:

Yeah they looked at it with a stethoscope and they disconnected the drive shaft and I don't know how they checked it but supposedly the rear end isn't making any noise but I've never heard of you joints making noise like that so like I said I'm going to put them in do you joints and if it still makes the noise it's going back it has a lifetime powertrain warranty on it so they need to fix it

I have installed a 4.10 gears and it's making the same noise u mentioned and it gets more and more noisy, so when i asked other shops they said 4.10 gears are hard to install properly so the noise wont hurt but the sound wont go away, and yes i checked the u joint and it was ok

when i asked other shops they said 4.10 gears are hard to install properly First time I've ever heard that.

I don't think there's anything special with 4.10s, but any gear set needs to have the pinion depth and backlash set correctly or it will make noise. If they're done wrong and driven that way for too long, they'll make noise even if they're reset correctly.

I dnt have any much knowledge in setting the rear end but i guess i'll stick to it until i find a professional who knows how to set it up Wright, and since you have the stock rear end and you are sure it was installed Wright i dnt have anymore infos to help, but keep us posted with what happens so we know what is it.
Good luck

You were informed wrong. Motive brand 4.30’s are hit or miss for slight whine. Even that dates back quite some and I could only imagine it has been addressed.

4.10’s are cake. I did my own with the proper tools except for an inch pound torque wrench for setting the pinion. However I use a solid spacer so no crush washer to worry about. It’s been quiet as can be for 18,000 miles.

Did you have new axles installed at the time? Were they Motorcraft or similar/better bearings? I’ve heard squeaky u joints before but uber rare. Have someone sit in the back seat to isolate what side it is coming from and start there.

If it makes more noise on deceleration, it could be a carrier bearing.

Take the mechanic for a drive and get it to make noise.

I wish it was easy as you said it :(
Where i live is difficult to find a decent mechanics I've been looking for a mechanic who will guarantee to rebuild the rear end without any noise and everyone cant guarantee his work all of them agree on 4.10 gears are difficult to install.

Ask them to explain what exactly makes 4.10s more difficult to install than other gear ratios. I would be interested in the answer.

Well got the car back from the shop put the U-joints in today which is Saturday and found that the rear tail shaft on the transmission was really loose and that's where I believe the noise is coming from so tomorrow or driving or back to the shop and they hopefully take care of it that would include the powertrain warranty the U-joints is not part of the powertrain warranty because not fluid and Gasket related how do you post a video to your post on here I made a video of how much slop is in that rear tail shaft
