OK, so what are the benefits and/or problems with one or the other with a centrifugal system? Trying to understand why most systems are blow-thru setups. Easier to install, maybe?

A blow thru can be difficult to tune becuase of the air swirl thru the MAF that it was not designed to have.
It does eliminate the need for a custom wiring harness and relocation of the MAF.

I think you meant the draw thru. The blow thru has channels all the way around the meter and gives a more accurate reading to the processor therefore more optimum for a blower/turbo car.

Bill, thanks for the terminology correction. Now that I know that, it makes it easier to do a search.
I ask because of a "what if ?" I'm putting a Pro-M draw-thru 80mm MAF on my car with a custom (home-made, hand-made) carbon fiber air box. I am concerned that IF I were to put a centrifugal blower on the car the calibration of the Pro-M (it has a special filter and inlet geometry) would be inaccurate and it would require special adapters if it were a blow-thru. If it could be configured as a pull-thru there should not be any calibration issues and it could (just maybe, with appropriate plumbing) be possible to retain my custom air box.

I talked to Ed Clark, the guy who does most of the Superchips custom tuning around my way and he says the blow thru is better for the blower cars to get a true tune. The KB cars came with a draw thru meter on them and the one my friend Bill has had a lot of driveability probs with it. After Ed installed the blow thru and 86'd the KB tune with a custom tune, the car screams. He says he can put any MAF on the car and tune it with the Superchips program. IE: an escort MAF on an F350. So I think the blow thru is the way to go on the blower cars and a custom tune is the key to pulling it all together. If you are staying natural, I would say stay with the draw thru as they are somewhat less restrictive.

I thought blow thru meant the S/C was blowing thru the MAF like the KB MM?
I thought pull thru was the S/C pulled the air thru the MAF like Reinhart?

Yes, this IS correct

This is true except the KB did not originally come with a blow thru, unless they have recently changed it.

I went to the KB web site and they show the Marauder with th e S/C blowing thru ( as in the S/C is mounted before/ infront of the MAF )the MAF, same as SgtMac's car..

That is correct as it is with mine. KB#8.

That is correct, but I don't think it is a blow thru meter. Bill Hall's car was set up with a draw thru meter only blowing thru it. Very inaccurate meter voltage readings. If the air swirls in the meter it will not get an accurate reading. That is why we changed his to a blow thru meter. This is the new meter.

If I am not mistaken Kenny Brown used the stock MAF on my car.
Hopefully David Frey will read this and tell us which one was used.
