Ahhhh, a friend of mine wasn't paying attention the other day, and ahhhh, ran his Marauder out of gas. He was smart, felt it die and immediatly pulled over to a safe place. He didn't try and limp along and try and drive farther... He quickly shut it down and ubbered to get gas.
Car started right up, and he drove to station and filled it w premium.
I am sure he felt really really stupid--He said it had been 35+ years since he'd run out of gas.
Anyway, ahhhhhh, this friend of mine, ahhhhh, wanted me to ask you all a few questions.
Seems his check engine light is now on. He checked his gas cap (it was tight) took it off, and retightened it... Drove around, even on freeway, And the check engine light is still on.
My friend is flomuxed!
Ideas? For my friend?

Clear the code. If it comes back, then diagnose!

For the very first time in my life I agree with this statement.
It’s every other time that I read “I cleared my code but it came back???” I SMH...
Your FRPS sensed a drop in pressure, you leaned out, you tripped a knock sensor, pick one of many. Clear it.

Exactly what they said.
Common issue.
Oh, and lend your friend a credit card to get gas.

This is kind of like when you change the fuel filter and get a code.

Was your friend driving a black or a Silver?

He doesn't want to say because, ahhhhh, I think he is, ahhhhh really embarrassed.
Thanks all.
I will be sure to tell him straight away. I am sure he will be extremely grateful.

My friend sheepishly admitted that he had a wallet stuffed with cash, and was simply preoccupied searching for a house to buy.
He cleared the code and so far it hasn't returned.
He wanted me to thank you all. Thank you (for him of course). He really appreciates you all!

As my wife points out, I always have plenty of gas.

Could he have just disconnected the battery overnight, would this have cleared it ?
