2003 MM shipping magnets

Anyone else have one of these?

My recollection of what I was told when I bought the car was that when the cars were new, and shipped on 18-wheelers, they put these magnets on the doors to help advertise the car or denote it as something special.

I’ve never seen anyone mention them here.

I have never seen them. I'm guessing in the end it was to let most of the sales folks who had no idea what this car was that it was NOT a grand marquis;)

Figure most of 'em probably got trashed upon delivery.

I know the previous owner to me didn't have it made (he only had the car for six months) and the original owner (Wags) doesn't post here anymore.

I stand slightly corrected. From the original FS ad:

Ok, let's try this again. 2003, 81K miles, DR chip, Denso's, aftermarket alarm/remote start, every service record and every tank of gas recorded since new. Original owner, purchased 6/02. Steel rims/snow tires included (fronts new, backs might get 1 more winter out of them). Many pictures posted in the photo section. Either look under Wags, or do a search with keyword "Chevelle". Runs great. Also included is an original dealer 2003 Mercury Marauder magnet! It is the large one (about 20"x18") that the dealer's had in the showroom. Be one of the only people out there with one of these very rare magnets! Also, the CD that they sent out back in 2002 is included, also a real neat poster that came with the CD! The magnet and CD are for sale for 11.5K, and I'll through in the car for free!:) PM if anyone is interested.

As I recall my local Ford dealer only had a poster of the car on the wall, but they knew nothing much about the Marauder.

When I seen them shipped on the car haulers from here there were no magnets on them, also Ford would never ship them with that on because it would scratch the paint while they were shipped on the car haulers .

Yeah, that was a mistake on my part. Once I saw the original FS post from way back when I realized it was put on at the dealer.
