Plug and play, they're bright and big difference from stock.

Do you use these yourself? Do you happen to have any pics of it installed?

bulbs like those have short lifespan, yes they are brighter but if you drive a lot at night, will be replacing yearly, they get like 200-300 hours of life as info

I have had them in for at least 5 years and drive some night and not burned out yet. I have had others that do burn out fast but these are SYLVANIA not Korean brand x. They are worth installing big improvement. You install just like the stock bulb which is not simple on a mm you need to pull the headlight forward or out is best to get to the bulb. Best to loosen the corner / park light to pull out headlight assembly.

Some at night. , So what is some? An hour a week? I drive 45 min. Every morning in dark, as with everything, ymmv. Just bringing it to attention. My 95 Ford truck has original halogens in it. Almost 24 years old..are they bright? No, were they ever bright?, No:argue:

Anything that gives you better light like HIDs, projectors or LEDs will require some work.
Since yours are stock, even the same bulb - new will be an improvement.

Buy a couple of flashlites and duct tape them to the fender. They will be brighter and you can pull the headlites for more air to the intake.

I prefer the Silverstar Ultras, as opposed to Silverstar XZEs

Any particular reason why?

I'd recommend a relayed headlight harness from BH1976 (assuming he's still making them) which would also prolong the life of the LCM. Might not feel the need for different bulbs once they're getting full voltage. Easy for me to spend your money though...

I've heard from some members who's LCMs I've repaired that their headlights are brighter. I have not done any testing.... just what has been relayed to me.

I've been doing the Relay Harness mod since forever (GM b-bodies before Panthers) with good results. BH1976's work is very good too.

The XZE has more of a blue look to it, the ultra is more white.

Personally, I went through so many Sylvania Ultra bulbs that I will NEVER buy another Sylvania product.
Absolute junk.....they would burn out every 6 months!
There was even a lawsuit against them....which I should have participated in.

I've had very good luck with PIAA products.
They are bright white, and they last for years....not months

GE Nighthawks, as recommended by lighting guru Daniel Stern.

Thanks for posting about the GE Nighthawks, IMO Stern's word is golden.

+1 for the GE Nighthawks.

Philips XTremeVision are good too.

To improve visibility, go for a +90% or higher bulb with an unfiltered glass envelope. ie no blue filter which actually cuts some lumens output/lux. Both the Nighthawks and the XtremeVision have unfiltered envelopes.

How does one go about obtaining said BH1976 relay kit?

Didn't find in member list.

Thanks

And he hasn't posted in a long time. You can also try GoldPanther on CVN or CVNw. He makes harnesses and his quality is superb.

MyBlackBeasts- Sorry, got my Panther sites mixed up.

Gee, I haven't hit Crownvic.net for ages, did they get things fixed?

Yes, almost 4 months to the day after they broke it. Seems to be fine now.
