I haven't peeled back the leather and foam to look at the structure of the seats, but could there not be something added to our existing seats that would provide more lateral support?

I mean, with these cool brakes, choice of control arms, soon watts links, lower springs and so forth, were gonna be tossed around a bit more.

Anyone?

The ricer seats are generally too much...touring sports car track only seats. But I think Reccaro makes some real nice down to earth seats that are still sporty and offer good support. Might want to check with them.

I like the MM seats though...but again, where's my reference coming from...

Nah... don't want to replace them... just augment them.

The few "seat guts" I've seen had a steel frame of sorts. Someone experienced could build from that and then some complimentary upholstery work might make it look factory enough.

Be aware of the AIR BAGS in the out board portion of the front seats.

The only airbag module thing in the seat is a bladder that is in the base of the seat. Basically it senses if someone is sitting in the seat, and maybe the size since its a two stage airbag. Either way this shouldn't make a difference in modifying the seat for more lateral support. By the way the bladder sits on top of the foam (it is the size of the base of the seat) and is replaceable without replacing the foam.

blkgrape - I think they're talking about the side airbags that appear to be loaded in the side bolsters of the seats.

There is a seat belt clip that helps to keep you in the seat. Autocross uses them. Someone posted a right up and a link in the past.
