Hello i suppose i should first let you guys know i am not very savvy with cars so please bare with me if im using incorrect terminology or sound unclear when describing my problem. so yea i purchased a 03 Marauder with about 92,000 mile on it last summer and have been loving it so far. Unfortunately about a month ago a slew of electrical issues arose seemingly simultaneously the biggest being that the EATC will only run when the ignition is in accessory position and i live in the northern most part of new england so my commutes have been cold as you could imagine. So on especially cold nights i sometimes will pullover once the cars warmed up, put it in accessory position and get maybe a minutes worth of heat and then get back on the road. So the other issues are as followed and i should clarify that i believe one maybe two of these other issues seem to only come up when the car is running similar to how the EATC only runs when the ignition is in accessory position. So i cant unlock the doors with the button on the inside or with the FOB while the car is running, the internal lights only turn on when you turn the car off and take the keys out, the digital clock also only works when its in the accessory position and i believe the only other thing is that the back lights for buttons on the stereo so you can see what you pressing at night stopped lighting up period and all of these arouse over night about a month ago. I did notice some issues with the locks leading up to this that i wrongfully attributed to the FOB and am now pretty sure where maybe some early symptoms of what was to come? But yea please forgive me if im all over the place and unclear with some of these and il do my best to revise and add any detail i forgot. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hmmm...ignition switch? maybe the prior owner had 5 lbs of keys hanging from it, or it was victim of a prior theft attempt-never got fixed right...guessing here. Wonder if you can swing by a Ford dealer?

i would say the same thing, the key forward in the driving position seems to not be giving power to the eatc.
That would be the first step, i am sure the car has had some work or repair that did not fix the original issue.

if you key the car forward, or backwards, does the radio work?

There is an ignition starter switch - NOT the ignition switch - on either the top or bottom of the steering column. It probably needs adjustment. I'll double check when I get home to my shop manual.

I checked and the switch is not adjustable, but the contacts could possibly be bad.

This is the switch: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Ignition-Starter-Switch-MOTORCRAFT-SW-5011/162883863417?_trkparms=aid%3D2 22007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D 2%26asc%3D20131003132420%26mei d%3Dc7dd18942e824bc58d27d31d2d 837ba5%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D2 %26rkt%3D2%26sd%3D183547794948 %26itm%3D162883863417&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851

Alright guys thanks for the speedy replies. So yea i probably would have brought it to a dealership by now but im buddies with plenty of cars guys and have a family friend whos a ford specialist so i figured i would try going through them first and the ford specialist suggested the same thing you guys are about the ignition switch er ignition starter switch being the potential culprit among a few other things that i really should have written down. The radio functions in the accessory position and while its running if thats what your asking sorry i assume thats what you mean by key forward.

So theres has been some new developments that seem to have fixed all the problems except the clock and most importantly The EATC/ really just the EATC blower motor relay i believe. but i will still check the contacts with the ignition starter switch. So today me and my buddy just checked the fuses and fuse number 23 which happens to be for the EATC,instrument cluster, clock, lcm, interior lights and door lock switches was blown, so we couldn't find any spare fuses so we just swapped another 15 amp fuse which happened to be the number 15 fuse which ended up having the EATC blower motor relay under it and presto the EATC works while the car is running but obviously the fan motor isnt since we stole that fuse and like i said everything else is working again except the clock and that. So i go see my other car buddy to get a fuse/imput and we replace the number 15 fuse we stole for the 23rd fuse and the fuse we just swapped from 15 to the 23rd burns out so we get another one and the end result is as i said everything but the clock and the fan motor er fan blower motor relay seem to be working. thanks again guys il be sure to add any details i may have forgotten but i think this should be a big step in the right direction for solving this malarkey.
Ah I forgot the rear window defrost worked fine before we replaced the fuses today and now that doesn't seem to be functioning although i haven't actually tested it yet it might work and the button just doesn't lite up i will let you guys know once im out of work but yea were down to those three things.

I've had that #23 fuse be blown on a car that came over to my house, that person wired a toggle switch to the blend door actuator..

Long story short, I went to do the blend door actuator and the eatc was dead, and the blend door actutor didn't work. Funny is the eatc was working when it came in.
Low in behold MJ #23 was blown
Replaced the fuse and that has fixed that 2002 sport for 3 years and two separate owners..

So I would say you have a short in the blend door actuator or that harness, you can key the switch forward, listen nice and quiet, turn the temperature up and down and listen for the blend door to move
I would start at 85 degrees and go down 5 degree, stop and listen,... listen for the door to move.
Or just get the heat working and turn the temp all the way down and see if it blows cold air. To test if the door works
Do not buy dorman parts. Buy oem ford blend door actuator

Ignition switch is where I was going, too. Only radio, windows, and wipers are an accessory.
