Before I begin, promise to be gentle.

I have installed Denso Plugs, the 180 degree therm, Dennis's Customized SCT tuner and 4.10 Gears.

But I still can't even squeal the tires. Am I expecting to much or is something wrong. :flamer:

In hot weather, on a normal surface yes.

With respect to all, I don't think it is right, my car was reprogrammed by Dennis Reinhart, no gears. My car squeals the tires anywhere from a solid short squeal to a lot. It's very hot in Florida and the tires are squealing.

I don't know if there is a difference between reprogramming PCM and what the SCT tuner does, I hope others with the same mods as you will report their experiences

How many miles on your engine? Our engines don't really break-in and come to life until about 8,000 miles or so.

If you're looking for real tire-shredding power you might want to consider a supercharger.

If your car is still young, say under 2000 miles, it's not unusual to not be able to break the tires. I had that very setup with the exception of the tuner. I personally don't like the generic one for all, all for one tune, but that shouldn't make a difference with attempting to break loose.

Eventually you will. And although it seems cool....it really sucks when you are trying NOT to do so.

The finale to the addition of a custom flash, or a chip, is to have the car fine tuned with an A/F tune on a dyno by one of several capable tuners we have available to us, and having that new tune stored as well. I am not sure how one accomplishes this with a hand held tuner, as it would have to be uploaded either onsite, or the new data saved to a floppy and sending the tuner and floppy out to someone who can upload it.

Trust me, it'll all come together in time....

I have no performance mods yet, 6 mo old 4500 mi.My MM will squeel a brief bit, not much and not all the time.I too have been reasurred to be patient here on this site about break in . No one has ever steered me wrong on this site . I was wondering if a brake torque would make a difference?do you turn off O.D.& traction control?

To brake torque, say warming up tires at the track...yes, T/Ctl must be off. OD should be off in all n/a cars running at the track for greater pull thru.

The T/C would be a slim cause for concern. Unless your really smokin the tires on wet pavement, the T/C probably will never kick in. If you really want to see what the T/C does, find a nice wet parking lot, no cars around, and cut it loose. Once the T/C kicks in due to wheel spin, you feel the engine lose power, and will keep doing this until the wheels quit spinning. I did this by accident in my old '99 Cobra after a car wash. While leaving the car wash, I wanted to get ahead of the on coming traffic. I nailed the throttle in 1st, the tires spun, the T/C kicked in and I almost got rear ended before the car recovered the power and took off again. That was the last time I ever did that with the T/C on. AS my MM don't have that option, I don't have that worry anymore.

My car has just over 2000 miles and I can rip the tires all day - in reverse. You all are going the wrong way.

BWA-HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHH AHAHAHA....

valkyrie and Bradley G:

It DOES take a few thou for the motor to "loosen up", so to speak...depending on how you drive, it starts to loosen up at around 5,000 miles and continues to around 10,000...as an added benefit, the exhaust tone gets better during that time, too...

It also depends on the PSI in the rear tires, I am running 28, 32 results in too much spin.

Sorry Bob, but your wrong. I watched MPearce have trouble all last night at the track until he realized the T/C was on. Once off, his times improved by .3 and he was able to spin them up warm.

I have around 4500 miles on the car now.

I will be getting the S/C as soon as I can sell my Honda Valkyrie to get the cash.

I am trying to mod and continue being married at the same time. It isn't easy!!!!
