Turn the rotors then, you won't get the life out of the pads or better stopping..old rotors are glazed and have old pad material embedded in them..your car, do what you want, but you asked here

This doesn't answer your question, but I only use Akebono brake pads. They're probably the only American made brake part you can buy nowadays.

Wagner ThermoQuiet work well. Low dust, quiet, and not expensive. Friend has EBC on his BMW, not sure of the color, but they are noisy and dustier then my Wagners.

Someone asking about a performance semi-metallic is not the same market as a ceramic. Thermoquiets are a daily driver friendly low dust option.

OP look into the Hawk HPS, I've been very happy with them. They make the crappy brakes semi-tolerable with improved initial bite.

I was never a fan of EBC stuff, a friend of mine ran yellows on his Infiniti M37 and he got 15,000 miles out of them, very aggressive stuff for the street. They also used to sell pads & rotors for marauders years ago and many people complained about shuddering within 5000 miles.
