Yesterday was a rainy day to say the leased. While driving my windshield wipers & wash started squirting. No matter what I did to the switches they had a mind of their own. Anyone ever experienced this ? How can I fix the issue ?

And clean out the area where wiper motor sits...debris and water accumulate submerging motiry in water causing wacky wiper syndrome...yes, that's what it was phrased

Goes without saying, which is why I didn’t, the problem will be obvious once the cowl is pulled out

I have been rather busy. Just wanted to mention you were all dead on. The other week I found the wiper cowl water drain was clogged. The wiper motor needed to be replaced. The car is back in full operation. TKS.

FYI. Had the same issue except wipers kept coming on and off, on there own.
finally had to disconnect them. I had already cleaned out the motor cowl/housing
and added additional drainage.
it was the multi function switch. It took two of them. First one lasted for about 1 1/2 months
the went out and wipers started coming on again and I could not stop them.
Ford honored replacement and 2nd one installed and still "working"
