That's me at 2:41 of the video, the raving idiot.

The Zombie Marauder has reanimated itself. No weird dashlights, stalling, CEL, EATC works perfectly....I'll test drive it tomorrow.

Was: Bad PCM. And I changed out the ignition switch and alternator in the investigative process. last thing I did was recheck/clean the ground to the driver's side fender for the PCM and ABS module.

Only thing, it won't crank with the key, I have to hook up a remote starter to the starter terminals, have the ignition in RUN and turn the engine over that way. Then it starts perfectly.

Do I need to get the dealer to reflash/scan the PCM? Never had this issue until I sent out the PCM to be fixed. Or is the steering column receiver gone bad? How to tell the diff?

And, the ABS light is on, open circuit for the ABS motor, might be a blown fuse, I'll have to run those down later.

THANKS for all the support and brainstorming!

Either turn off PATS in the tune, or a Trip to the dealer or a buddy with IDS can fix it

if anybody you know has a ford new gen star tester that can do it. i bought one on ebay for $125.00. a automotive locksmith should be able to do it also.

So the plan is:

1.Check/double check all grounds and starter terminal connections
2.Remount PCM bracket (I broke off the top mounting stud on mine, so i just got a good metal PCM bracket from a 2002 Lincoln TC out of the JY)
3.Check all ABS fuses and relays
4.Swap out rebuilt PCM for the matched set of PCM + key/cylinder. This should be a matched set not setting off any PATS
5.Test fire the car, hopefully it starts with the key, runs OK and the ABS light goes out.
6.If those 5 steps work, I got my car back, then I go back to the rebuilder and say ...hey....?
7.If those don't work, consider taking the car to the dealer and have them scan the PCM and/recalibrate for my key.

maybe the abs light has something to do with it. I dont see why but being that they share a ground it could be possible. I would investigate that first.

PATS is working perfectly otherwise it would not run at all.

The marauder has type e pats, you should not have to swap the key.

To me it sounds like your pcm repair place swapped the ecu or replaced the internals. The one unique thing about the marauder pcm is that is has a starter interrupt circuit. Although the marauder pcm is the same as all other 03/04 luxury sedan ecus I do not know of any other eec-v pcms that have that circuit.

If they did indeed swap the internals with one from perhaps a mustang or the like then your alternator will not function correctly either.

Are you positive they returned the PCM you sent them?

Update!!! -

1.I unbolted and cleaned the grounds G101 (ABS and PCM on Drivers fender) and G102 next to battery on Pass fender, as well as the engine block /alt harness ground. Checked the starter lugs/connection for tightness.
2.Swapped in the matched PCM/lock cylinder from ebay.
3.Repaired a broken wire inside the (brake)? harness, Violet/Black wire broken in half inside the harness . Coming off this harness there's a plug to the master cyl to give you an idea of which harness.
4.Swapped out starter relay for JY one that looked good.

PATS light one flash every 3 secs..like normal, then turn the key --steady red then went out. NO CRANK.

So, I used a push button starter switch, hooking one lead to red/one to black at the starter solenoid, key in RUN, and the MM fired right up...

No CEL, smooth idle, ABS light was on for a few minutes then went out. I took it for a ride, 30 mile hell ride, plenty of punching it...having Marauder fun! the car ran fine....topped off the tank with 93 octane, then pulled into the driveway, and tried restarting with the key. No go. The dash lights came on, then went dim when the key was turned...like normal...except no starter action.

So:

Bad - new ignition switch?
some type of PCM issue?
Bad - ignition column antenna/pickup?
Bad - trans neutral safety switch?

Hmmm...

Yes the rebuilt service gave me back my outer case, Lord knows what's inside.

Thanks you guys, really helps to know I have an army of MM fans ready to help out!

ABS light may have been due to broken VLT/BLK wire which I spliced/resoldered....WTF how did that even break in two?

(I thought PATS only disabled the starter, could not disable a running engine)

Have you tried starting it in neutral?
