This past March, my friend was driving to his lake house in Wisconsin and saw a Marauder sitting in a field on the side of the highway. He immediately called me and asked me if I'd like to get "back in the game"...of course I said YES! She had been sitting in a field for over a year and needed someone to love her. 90K on the clock and she is pretty much all stock. We picked her up for $3000 which wasn't bad because the engine was toast!

My friend drove up and picked her up and shoved her into a storage unit until we could get a plan together. She ran but sounded like there were wrenches clanking under her valve covers! Ha! Also...missing foglight....

As if by the very providence of God, Chris Curless offered up a used Marauder motor for sale! A deal was struck and my friend and I picked up the car and towed her from Green Bay to Grand Rapids! New engine here we come! The trip was not short...but was cool...people were staring and giving us thumbs up on the car on the trailer. Pretty dang cool!

Once we got to Curless' shop, I was amazed at the number of Marauders this man possessed and has built! As he and I talked, I found Chris to be a man of passion and integrity. I wanted more for this car and I felt like Chris did too! Here are some more pics of the interior and exterior under the sunlight at Cureless Auto Repair.

The previous owner was no jerk, but must've had no idea about the Marauders many quibbles. She needed new axles, 4.10 gears, rebuilt with cobra clutches and a T/A girdle cover:

Ok, to continue my Marauder addiction, i just ordered some OEM body pieces. We are planning on a complete paint job with Jet Black paint and a few beautiful coats of clear...some wet sanding and major beautification.
As my painter/body shop looked over the car, there was not one body panel that didn't need work. I figured since the fenders were cheap, I'd save the labor hours and pick them up. The roof is soo soo bad. So i ordered a new roof skin (not easy to locate or replace, but better than the alternative) and a new hood (the one that is on it now is a rusty aftermarket one). I also grabbed some factory headlights from Ebay and I'm planning for the whole of August without my beast! I'm also going for the S55 tail light treatment.
I'm still looking for a factory front grille...but will settle for aftermarket if it can't be found reasonably.
We're gonna get her right!

Big couple of days for this Marauder resurrection thread! Yesterday I picked up a new hood, left and right fenders, and a roof panel to replace on the Marauder. Both fenders and hood currently installed were aftermarket. The hood was rusted on the underside and the roof looked like it had the mumps, measles and chickenpox at the same time! I had to drive to Lakeland, FL (Lakeland Ford) to the parts dealer to get some great prices without shipping charges! I had to pick up a UHaul to transport that HUGE hood...it was NOT fitting in the back of my Ford Excursion, Ha! $46 to rent a 8' trailer? No problem!
OEM Ford Hood: $489.20
OEM Ford Fenders: $224.50
OEM Roof Panel:$610.41
The body shop manager was super pumped when I showed up with OEM Ford parts...he said this project just got a bunch easier for his team...lol! It seemed like every panel on my car has some form of weird dent or imperfection. He is going to do BASF Jet Black and 4-5 coats of clear with nice long setting times. I will also be replacing all trim pieces (That are replaceable) and weatherstripping so no air leaks and ugly faded trim. Well...my baby is in the capable hands of the Classi Autobody crew...now what am I going to do?

Update: Body work has begun! With a lot of tourists in Florida after the Covid Mess started to wane, the body shop has actually been on a 3 week wait for repairs..(130% capacity). Last year at this time they were at 71% and were feeling stressed...lol!
New roof skin is on and looks good...
New hood is on and getting body panels aligned. Bumper covers are getting prepped...we should be in color in a week!

I'd really like to be the guy that knocks off the handles, keypad, run channels, and side glass. This past year has been odd and seems to have just zipped by without having much to offer. I have been busy building a barn, laying wood floors, and working. Oh, and I am about 2/3 of the way into having everything for my Eaton swap.

I sent my factory wheels in to Detroit Wheel and tire for PVD coating. My local Discount tire did me a huge solid and sold me some inexpensive temporary wheels (and smaller rear tires that are same size as front because they had some sitting around) to be offered up here for use for anyone wanting to do the same. I'm thinking we could keep these wheels on this Forum for any and all .net folks that wanna send wheels in to be widened or coated. (I know...but it's nice to be nice) Here's what I have for a while:
We could create a waiting list and just keep em moving...what do you guys think? (Man...those fender gaps are terrible!!!)

ADTR suspension system installed! Chris at ADTR is a straight up good dude! My system came in and we went to installing...but Eibach shipped me the wrong spring rate (200 lbs. vs 650 lbs.) It sucked cuz my car was on the rack at my mechanic shop and the springs had the car sitting on the tires in the front! One call to Chris (check THIS out!) He answered the phone on the first call!!!! He immediately sprung into action contacting Eibach and had the correct springs overnighted to my mechanic! YESSIR! That'a big deal since I'm driving 8 hours to Fastblackmerc for a bunch of electrical upgrades tomorrow!
Chris really saved the day on something that wasn't his fault, but he made it his responsibility. Here are some pics before and after. I didn't lower it too low since the rear has the same size as the front tires until my wheels get back from PVD coating and then I'll put my 295's in the rear and 255's in the front. The ride quality is tremendous and the cornering grip is excellent! Yessssss! Shout out to my mechanic shop Reilly Automotive Repair in Daytona Beach, FL. for sticking around late to finish the job and align the car before my road trip!

Looking AWESOME bud! Super jealous on them wheels! Especially the polished insides! I wouldn’t be concerned with the pits, that was probably the best they could clean them up without filling each and every void I’d imagine?
As for Jim’s handy work your in great hands. I have his LED ambient lighting kit and couldn’t imagine the car without! I actually had my first disco light show the other night as something in my console shifted into the remote control and activated quite the intense light show.. [emoji1303] Yeah I think I’ll be removing that controller. But hey, I won these at MV9 and the battery still works!
And his custom gear shift surround ended up being the most possible completed interior look I could see ever imagine considering I was pretty depressed at the HUGE hole I had in the floor just days prior to install!

While FastBlackMerc is doing endless upgrades to my electrical system and interior/exterior lighting, I got word that Pantherlights.com was working on my custom headlamps this week. Here's a heads-up:

JustBob,
Thank you my friend! I know the wheels I sent them were not pretty and had sat out in a field for at least a year and maybe two. They look SOO good I didn't have the heart to complain. You made me feel such relief, brother truly. Jim Marton is a Godsend to we Marauder lovers...the amount of products/creations he has developed and influenced for our vehicles is staggering! I had his interior lighting setup in my first (totaled) Marauder from SSHS8 I believe! Ha!
Your six speed setup is one for history! Seriously! Great Great Stuff! I hope to see it in person one day! Godspeed!
More pics to come!

Thanks brother!
Dude! Kevin is super legit! I remember when I first saw these and thought they were not worth it...THEN I rented a vehicle with projector headlamps and was blown away with the level of intensity and high visibility without blinding oncoming traffic!
The cutoff on these projectors is crazy sharp and bright!

Per Kevin, to set level, "Park the car on a level surface 25ft from the wall and project the lights onto the wall. Take a measurement from the center of the projector to the ground. Then go over to the wall and the top of the step of the beam pattern should measure the same (or up to 2 inches less) than the first measurement you took from the projectors"

Fastblackmerc is super legit man! He's been working on a massive electrical hack job that the previous owner of my car perpetrated upon my vehicles headlamp system...while he fixes their hot mess...here are more lighting upgrade pics from Jim. First, check out the new third brake light setup!!!! Jim's a master!!!!

Picked up my car from Mo's Speed shop a couple of weeks ago. Marty and Jeff are the BEST! Got a bunch of things done. Here's the list:
1. Stainless Works Headers and catted exhaust
2. New Megs Resonated Factory tips (NOS)
3. Valve Covers Powder Coated Silver with MMR inserts
4. New Cooling Fan
5. New Battery Tray and Hold down for a bigger battery (for future stereo upgrades)
6. Spark Plugs
7. New O2 Sensors
8. E-brake Install (Never had them because of previous owner)
9. New Boost, Fuel Pressure and Wideband A/F Gauges
10. Complete new a/c system (Mine was all original and crapped out)
11. New door lock actuator
12. New Driver door module.
This was quite a list of stuff and I'm sure I left some things out...but I am super pleased! Now to aim my headlamps from Pantherlights (Just got the adjustment wrench from Amazon). then to figure out the demon eyes functionality and ride!!!!

I shouldn't have implied something is wrong with his current setup.
I should have said I don't understand why, with such a clean engine bay, would he install a pcv vent so high, and so close to the wiper cowl.

Although mine is just an oil tank with a breather set up I chose to mount it behind the front bumper on the passenger side wheel well. I had horrible stink with just breathers, I’ve had excellent results in both catching fluids and zero stink now.

Where is the 2nd breather? Are you counting the inlet duct as a breather?
Allowing oil blow by and dirty steam into the air inlet will only contaminate everything downstream.
TB, SC rotor pack, intercooler, and a puddle of oil left to pool in the bottom of the lower intake.
All waiting to get burned in the combustion chamber.

This car has a catch can plumbed in on the driver's side. It's a Mighty Mouse can with the pcv valve in the can. The factory PCV is gutted. I've done 4 cars exactly like this including my own. Copied the setup from a Cobra Mustang.

My money is on the drivers door module then. I replaced mine with one from an 05 CV and everything worked just fine afterwards, although my locks were all not locking but would unlock. Just remember to write down your new code that is on your replacement module before you put your door panel back on.

I shot a video and some pics as I got my baby back from Presidential Detailing in Tampa today. Wow! She looks scary! They did paint correction (I had the whole car painted last year and I wanted that glassy shine) and ceramic coating on the body, wheels, and glass. She is stunning! It was crazy seeing her in such a pristine garage alongside an Aston Martin, Mclaren, vintage Supra, Ferrari Enzo, and race cars! Woweee! It cost a pretty penny, but the work they do is remarkable! If you live any reasonable distance, they are worth a call! https://presidentialdetailing.net

Well holy crap dude...welcome to NC. Myself, RoadWarrior, and another MM owner who's not on here have been meeting up for a cruise-in that's in Liberty (about 20 miles southeast of Greensboro) the 3rd Sunday of the month. If you're interested, come on out. We show up around 2, shoot the breeze for a couple/3 hours, then go eat at a great BBQ joint that's just outside of Siler City. Next cruise-in will be on the 18th...

With that amount of smoke I would think you could smell whether it's oil or coolant. Check your oil for coolant, and visa versa. If it's coolant burning stop driving immediately and fix the head gasket. Coolant in the oil will wipe out your bearings.

No more smoking at all for over four months. BUT! Now I have a puddle of gear oil next to my driver rear tire...time for axle seals and bearings. [rear end service] Here we goooo...Any parts best to use here? Timken?

There's tons of choices but National Bearing seems to be a good brand, too. Or go OEM. There are worse jobs and believe me - the only thing worse than finding gear oil leaking is to find smoked bearings and NO gear oil! The pinion seal on my Town Car needs replaced and I add fluid once a year when the engine oil is changed. It's apparently not that bad but it's the only damp spot on the entire chassis so it's time along with a fluid change. I guess while I am stuffed under there I will install the new used air suspension solenoids I got to turn off the annoying suspension light on the cluster.
Glad to hear yours is doing well. My list of mods got slowed down and you know why. However, I did just get back in low gear and I am replacing/painting all the door mouldings and just got my supercharger pulley from BilletFlow.
As soon as the bung for the AFR Gauge is welded in I'll complete all the wiring and begin teardown. I guess my U/D pulley and COT are already spoken for. Still incredibly low miles with only 58K I am on the fence about doing all the timing components while I am knocking on that front door. If we lived closer I'd be there doing your rear diff with ya!!
