I’m not sure if I called it by the right name, but there was a plate type thing that would clip on to the power steering lines that would help direct the oil draining from the oil filter. I hate draining the filter and oil goes everywhere. I think it was like $20 or so

I think they come from a Ford Explorer. Don't recall the name.

I think they might just be from later panthers. Oil deflector?

I got off EBay from a dealer many years ago. It’s a must have.

I use one. Be very patient when removing filter. Unscrew a little, push filter up, let drain.

Tell me about it... I put 36k miles on my car in 9 years so I probably didn’t think about it until I changed the oil. Then forgot about it until the next time.

I always make a mess when changing the oil and have to hose it down with brake cleaner afterward. I never knew this was an option.
I got one of these way back in the day. Used it once or twice and then quit. Made as big a mess with it as I do without it. Poor designs, both the filter location and the adapter. I chalk up as the price of owning a Marauder.

I bought one way back in the day too. I have the exact same experience with this part.
I use a piece of plastic wrap laid over the rack and a thorough wipe down afterwards.
If I can find where I put it I'll post it up for someone.

They take a little getting used to. You still have to let it drain slow and be careful when removing the filter but it’s leak free once you get the hang of it.
