I've been having a tire wear problem as described inthis thread. (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=10689)

I made it clear to the service writer that I wouldn't accept any scratches on my rims. I offered the suggestion to take the wheels off of a Grand Marquis sitting in the lot. They did.

The mechanic was pretty cool, he didn't seem to mind me hovering right outside the bay door,... and he knew all about the Marauder, even though they never had one come in before.

Well the Hunter machine showed my alignment was dead on factory specs. ...WTF?

He checked out all the suspension components, he said he didn't see anything wrong with them.

any ideas?

Could it simply be that they've not been rotated in 17,500 miles? Otherwise the tread looks pretty good.

Get with carfixer on this, I was talking to him about this very same subject last night.

I also spoke with carfixer about that. He's stating that the factory specs are off a little. He is a Ford Tech. himself. Talk to him. Next time I'm over his way I'm going to have him allign my car.

Does anyone know if these cars gain (+) or (-) camber as the suspension compresses?

That could be part of it. You've bever had them changed side to side?
