I saw him and offroadkarter making passes all week. The live stream was rather entertaining.

Congrats on the class win, and congrats to both Marauder owners for making the trip.

It was exciting as hell watching Chris go round after round in the final bracket racing. I kept tabs on his tire pressures and filmed all his runs, Sherman was on the starting line helping him get the tires warm. One of Chris' friends was there recording all the times of the other competitors that won their rounds so we'd know what their dial in time was as well as what they were running. I almost had a heart attack in the last round when (this part always cracks me up) "Jerry Barnes", in the camaro, took the "win". When it became apparent that he ran faster then what was allowed in our class, and Chris ended up taking the win, it felt great after knowing he got knocked out last year due to spinning the tires third round in.

I had a few issues with my setup that I didn't expect, and the car ran a lot slower than I wanted it to. But in the end, I still finished and I had a great time hanging out with Chris and Sherman, as well as my co-driver Chris Adams from adtr.net. Our little rag tag group was getting some attention from the other racers, probably in part because we were passing everyone in the left lane on the highway. I had people coming up to me every day for hours asking about the manual swap, I even got stopped in our hotel parking lot in NJ by a few racers who wanted to check it out and didn't get to check in for another 2 hours because of that.

I'd like to do drag week again in the future, not sure if I'll run the Marauder again or take the easy/smart route and just put a TVS blower on the mustang and go run bottom 10's with no trouble. If I do bring the Marauder back, I have to come back with a built engine and at least 550 at the wheels to be entertaining, I won't ever be competitive because I refuse to put a cage in this car so I can go faster than 11.45's.

I will say though, I was at least lucky enough to get "named" on the live feed by Brian Lohnes and David Freiburger, my car was referred to as the "Bangshiftin' Marauder"

I was wondering if Chris was driving after seeing the ADTR post.

Congrats to you, too, Ryan for finishing Drag Week and getting the Freiberger recognition!

I did compete, but took the Mustang this year. It was great watching Ryan get his car sorted. Also great to hear Sherman won the SME!

Thanks for this - very interesting, especially the final run. I still don't understand their reasoning except to prevent 'sleight of hand'?

1320 got a few good shots of us, I wish they got some of Chris/Sherm at the line. Hopefully someone from HotRod did

I don't know if I'd say sorted, I still got a lot of sorting to do haha

In street machine eliminator class, at no time can you run faster than 10.00, any cars running faster need to be in a higher class. Since Jerry in the camaro ran a 9 second time, he violated the rules of our class and lost by default. Chris "broke out" of his dial in ET but he still ran a 10.35 which is still within the rules of what a SME class car can run.

I have seen cars in SME in the past run faster than 10.00, if you do it during the event you're not allowed to turn in that time slip (this is true for any class where you exceed the ET limit). You have to go back out and run a little slower. Since Jerry outran the class time limit in the final round of bracket racing, its not like they were going to call a redo for this match.

I saw an ADTR Instagram story that had Chris V. in a driver's suit. Maybe Chris/ADTR has more pics.

Anybody see next year's schedule in September? I'm excited, us131 is my home track. Having it start and end there is awesome. I live 25 minutes from the track. Definitely gonna be a priority to participate next year.

If you want to try and make the pre-register list, have all your information ready and stored in google chrome ahead of time. For the past few years, they've sold out 400 slots in 4 minutes. I managed to finish my registration in 2min50sec.

Very fair chance that if you miss out on pre reg but make the waiting list, you can just show up on race day and they'll have room for you.

You might also want to start reading over the rules, if you plan on running in the 10's you'll certainly need a cage. Street tires are not allowed on the track during drag week, have to run a DR or slick. You'll need to add a DS safety loop and some other safety stuff as well.
