last time i went to the track i ran a 14.375 at 97mph (i think), it was in November, and about 50 degrees out... that was stock with the exception of 4.10 gears and a sct chip...

yesterday i was back, it was 95 degrees, and i could not get my nos to work, the cylinder was f'd up inside the control unit somehow... so without nitrous I ran a 14.585 at 100mph.. this time i had underdrive pullies, kooks headers and high flow exhaust... so i was surprised the heat could have that much to do with it.. i expected to be in the high 13's given the additional horses.. my reaction times were both about the same, like a .555 or so.. and i had barely any tire spin... so for 40 degree hotter i ran slower...I would have thought the last 2k would have bought me something..

I raced a 350z convertable, i had him from the line to the last 100 feet and he passed by me by a nose right at the end... he was bone stock... so this really was a sucky day for me..

i might do the elec. water pump, and the 3000 rpm TC next...

Darebren, I had somewhat the same experience. I had a best of 14.48 in the cold dry air at Ennis. Then I added the 3000 stall, and the Dennis R. exhaust and ran at 87% and high humidity at a track about 800 feet higher altitude with a 14.44 result. At first glance you think "all that money" and no results. But, I am guessing that in the fall, I should see 14.2's at Ennis.

My experience is that the 3000 stall with the 4.10's gives me a traction problem, not big, but still too much tire slip. I am trying the PI 16" rims and some wider meats to save the street tires.

Happens to the best of us... with 4.10's, Kooks, & chip I ran a 13.74 @ 101 in April. I ran the car on a hot humid day after getting the tranny and TC done... ran a 14.20 and was devastated. Just wait for the cool weather.

Frankly, I'd be surprised if you got into the 13's w/out having the Stallion Torque converter, and having it set at 3000 RPM stall. I didn't begin getting into the 13 sec bracket until I had everything you have (minus the NOS) and the new converter as well. Another thing is, that you should always try to find a track that you prefer, and then continue to frequent that same track whenever you want to verify what changes any modifications have made, so that it will yield an accurate comparisant of past and present timeslips.

Ofcourse the air temperature does make a difference. That 40 degree difference in temperature can easily mean 3 or maybe even 4 tenths of a second difference in your 1/4 mile ET's.

It's definately the weather. The heat and humidity were killing me the other night.

And BTW: I run consistant 13.8's without the torque converter in yet! It goes in next week, can't wait for a cool evening.

Hmmmm, makes me wonder what else you've done to your car that nobody knows about.:depress:
