I'm the first to say I love my old cars and really appreciate how seldom you see a Marauder lately. But recently I was in Florida and being the off season I was able to rent a convetible Mustang on the cheap. When we arrived the only one available was a GT Premium so they let me have that as a free upgrade. Within 10 minutes of expressway driving my wife said "this is the most comfortable car I have ever driven in with you besides my own car." We were going 75 mph with the top down and could hear each other speak, radio on, just cruising. I can't hear her in my MM at 30 mph! It was a joy to drive. I always thought if I ever got a Mustang it would be a used manual car like a GT350 or GT500. Well, I was having so much fun in that car even with the automatic that I went to a few dealerships and drove a few GT350s, some brand new ecoboosts and some GTs.
GT350: The car was way more fun and way easier to drive than I ever could have imagined. Very compliant and easy to handle. But not nearly as fast in a straight line as I would have expected. I know its not made for that but still not the rocket I expected
Ecoboost convertible: Drove very well and handled as good as the GT. Others say they handle even better as the front end is 200lbs lighter. I guess since I was on the roads and not on a track I couldn't really tell and I am sure I am not a good enough driver to tell anyway. In the end it was noticeably slower than a GT and didn't feel any better braking or handling even with the PP1 package it had.
GT Premium convertible: Way quicker than I expected, I drove one after the GT350. Sure enough the GT premium at least felt faster. I have owned 6-speeds before but I wasn't going to bang gears on a test drive of a car I didn't own so maybe that was the difference. The 10 speed automatic is way better than I thought and the driving modes really make a difference. The amount of comfort, tech and performance in these new cars is just unbelievable.
I think I am going to keep my eyes open for a used 2019 GT convertible, in Florida some are already in the low 30s. I think it would be a great all around car. With the automatic anyone in my family can drive it. It is faster than I need, (not faster than I like just than I need). Lower entry and maintenance costs than even a 4 year old GT350. I really have to think about it.

I went through a time where I was seriously looking into the GT350, but decided to hold off. Man do I love the new Mustang though.

I have a 16 GT Premium Performance Pkg I bought new, I'm not 100% sold on the facelift front ends and I don't want to try and maintain direct injection 15-20 years from now. A lot of 2018 owners as well as coyote F150 owners were having engines replaced due to oil consumption as well.
That being said, a GT A10 will certainly give a GT350 a run for its money in a straight line, the GT350 lacks low end torque and has tall gearing, so you really have to wind it out. That car can handle another 2-300hp no problem.
The gen 3 coyotes are really strong engines, people are hitting 500rwhp and cracking off high 10's in the 1/4 with bolt ons and E85, with the A10 of course.
If you're getting a used 19, make sure you press for an oasis report to make sure the car didn't have any re-occurring warranty claims. Its not abnormal that someone gets a lemon and dumps it for whatever reason.
I strongly suggest you join up on mustang6g.com and just lurk and read, lots of info and lots of things to look for on these cars especially used.

Try a Dodge Challenger. More room for the driver (leg, head, shoulder) than even our beloved Marauders. And, a back seat that can be inhabited by someone other than a toddler .

Wasn’t the 350 designed and geared to hit the 200 MPH club? Probably why if so.

The 13-14 trinity GT500's certainly were, which is why I think you can hit 60 in first gear on those cars. I honestly do not know (and kind of doubt) if the GT350 can even hit 200, my GT tops out at 167.

https://crouse.smugmug.com/Other/Stuff/i-Q6XcJj9/ASimilar story. My wife and I were in Florida on vacation in May and we rented a Mustang convertible with the 4 cylinder turbo. Loved it. It was dark blue with black top and black interior. I'd upload a picture, but I can't seem to figure out how to do that on this new site.

Comes down to what you are looking for, the ecoboost's downfall is the sound. To me that's at least a quarter of the whole experience..even though the stock GTs are very quiet, they can be turned into a new sounding beast easily. If you don't want to be too involved in banging gears go with an A10 GT, especially with the Chicago traffic.

Not wanting to deflect too much, but the Ecoboost 4 in my new Ranger does have a gritty, industrial sound compared to either my Marauder or Mustang, both with stock exhaust. Surprised at the tuning options available for the Ecoboost 4 2.3L. Down on hp compared to the Mustang or Focus RS, the new Ranger still reportedly makes about 240 rwhp on 87 octane and 265 rwhp on 93 octane with the factory tune. Outside tuners like Hennessy are reporting about 305 rwhp and 375 rwt on 93 octane before hardware changes are required. Tuners are also reporting 0-60mph dropping from 7.5 seconds to 5.5 seconds with just the tune in the Ranger, probably even better in a Mustang. Speaking of convertibles, I briefly owned a '65 Impala SS vert right out of high school. If and when I buy another Chevrolet, it will be a :

the 18+ GT's with active exhaust are actually pretty loud. The 15-17 cars are very quiet which at this point I don't mind, I can go through the gears and not have to worry about attracting attention from the police. I'm honestly thinking of keeping this car as quiet as possible so I don't look like a stereotypical 5.Brotard
The EB's do sound awful with aftermarket exhausts though, that is a car that needs to stay muffled. Same with all of the ecoboost engines IMO.

2015 Mustang GT Performance Package here, I freaking love my Mustang! I am definitely the typical idiot Mustang owner though, its got stainless works from headers back and I am sure you can here my start it 5 miles away. I am still with a lot of others in the S550 community about the 18 refresh......I am not a fan BUT the improvements to the engine and interior along with the Performance Package 2 that is available has really tempted me to upgrade.
For pure joy of driving my Mustang wins hands down, it is one of the most fun cars I have ever owned and considering that my wife and I had our first date in the car she has decreed that it will be in the stable forever.
