Ok, FINALLY found the Marauder guy I was saying I could never catch up with and followed him for a few miles, flashing him and what not, I get his attention, pull up beside him and I say "Hey, I've got something for you..." "What?" (his wife gave me a dirty look, like I was on or something) "Something about Marauder's (my card), could you pull into that grocery store over there?" I point to the left, he's turning left I'm going straight but can still get in. I proceed to the white line of the red light, 2 car lenghts ahead. He gets an advance green, I watch, waiting for him to pull in...and he drives off.
I SHOULD have handed him the card...but oh well, I'm just some ged kid with a rifle endangering his wife waiting to steal his car and beat them both senseless. Whatever. At least I tried. Next time I'll just hand him the card. :alone:
But then again, I get to see a bunch of cool Marauder owners this summer and he doesn't! HAHAHA.

...and he drives off.
I suspect his wife convinced him that you were already driving a stolen car, and you were about ready to pull a weapon and hijack their new Marauder. Seriously.

The bottom line is - if it were me and someone was chasing me down, flashing their lights, honking the horn and trying to give me something, I probably wouldn't be too eager to pull over unless I recognized the person. No offense, but depending on the area and the drivers experience, you might be asking for too much. Now if someone pulled up next to me with the exact same car, and casually said "Hey - want to pull over and talk about the Marauder?" then I'd be all for that. Lastly - many people view a car as a 'mode of transporation', and are not into the whole enthusiasts thing.
There are too many crazy people out there for me to trust everyone on the road.
Although the effort is certainly appreciated, James, by most all of us here...what I've found is this is MUCH easier to do when you are IN a Marauder, yourself.
Not a slam against you...but, I've proven it...trying to do the same thing (well, maybe not the "stalking/carjack part" ;) :P ) in the wife's Suburban...it just don't work.
Don't take it personally...

Last year I pulled up beside another Marauder, rolled my window down and handed the guys wife a card. She handed it to him and he tore it up and pitched it out the window!
I keep all my cards unless I talk with the happy owner first.

I never did honk my horn but I guess I was a little too excited and maybe flashed him one to many times. I guess I did kind of scare his wife and I wasn't very exact as to what I wanted from him. I should have just handed him the card. Oh well. Another time if I see him I'll do that and tell him I'm sorry I scared him off the time before. And yeah, I knew it would be more helpful if I were in one...grrrr.

You know honestly...that's the first thing that came to mind! I was just too excited that after a year I finally found the guy, and that came across, I'm sure, as really odd...

you never know I'm 30 milea away from my house in Chicago and see a Silver MM, go in the restaraunt, immedialtely scan the crowd and the first person I pick to go up ro owns the car, ends up being smiley here on the board from way down south - Florida.
A have seen a few others who wouldn't even wave to me on the road when I wave - shame on them - but maybe they aren't into cars or appreciate them like me.
Now yesterday I was using the loner while my MM got DRLs and I pulled next to two guys in a MM and handed them the car, the folks I was with couldn't beleive i did that - especially while we were moving. At first I freaked the kids out, but then they smiled as I said nice car, - you just never know.

Nope, Todd said to never stop for a punk in a Grand Marquis that has tinted windows. :shake:

It is simply better to leave the card under the wiper or talk to them after they park and get out. If some clown is flashing and following me I would think twice about stopping or..... just leave them.
Safety has to be a consideration. Plus if a blue Grand Marquis was behind me doing this I would think that a senior citizen was after me. :D
