View Full Version : best alternator for an eaton swap?

I have just completed an Eaton swap and want to upgrade the alternator. I believe the reversing alternator spins it backwards from the stock rotation. I want a 150-200 amp alternator. I have read the cobra terminator or the police interceptor are good options. Seeking recommendations.
Wil some alternators not work when the rotation is reversed?
Thanks very much!

I've had a DB electrical high output alternator for a few years and its been trouble free.

Marauders use a 4G alt. Not the same used in p71

Do you know the amperage output on your DB Unit?

I have the DB 250amp alternator in mine. I did blow it once while running underdrive pulleys and hitting 6300rpm. I sent it back in and they repaired it no questions asked, under warranty even though it has been out of warranty for several years already. I highly suggest them.

What good is it if when hit you a mild 6300 rpm’s it goes bad? I’d be replacing alternators daily.

DB electrical website is only showing factory replacements as an option.

Call them, they might build one to order for you.

The alternator makes power no matter the direction it spins, the police alternator is the same as the marauder, if you’re running a 8 rib belt you just install the terminator alternator pulley on the stock alternator. The factory 6rib pulley is a ratcheting type pulley.

P71 alternator does not use the same regulator or brush pack.
