Hey guys, I used to be a pretty active poster at this site upon its startup, but then I ditched the 4v swap idea and went hardcore 2 valve. I had a 2002 Crown victoria sport, and I had fox lake ported and polished heads, compcams 278h cams valve springs. I was driving down okeechobee road in West Palm Beach Florida on wensday at about 1 30, and a woman lost control of her honda CRV in the rain and T-boned me. It is very likely that the car will be totalled, and they are going to offer me NADA value for my car, which is 16,600. Can I get more for my car if I can produce receipts? also I am receiving money from her insurance company as please dont sue us insurance (i dont plan on suing, just for her to cover my medical bills) they told me straight up i was getting "inconvenience money" based on the severity of the accident. If I can get 20 for my car or even 19, I will try to step into a mercury marauder. So I guess my questions are, how can I get more value for my car? and where can I get a BRAND NEW marauder for 30 or less?

This is terrible!!! I'm very sorry to hear about all of this. I'm not sure that I can really ofer you any specific info on this. All is i want to say is that you shouldn't trust any insurance company. They're some of the most greety businesses around, and I've found that they'll lie to you left and right w/out even batting an eye lash.
I hope that you'll consult an attorney if you haven't done so already even if you choose not to bring it to court. It's still important that you talk to one to ask plenty of questions about the possible outcomes of this. The insurance company does NOT care about you!!!
I believe that it should be pretty easy to get a Marauder for well under 30K as long as you can find one. There are some states w/dealers that have many of them, but I'm not sure about your area. I suggest you get some phone books from all your local areas and start making phone calls. that is, when you get the money from this insurance company. Or you can go onlione to www.mercuryvehicles.com (http://www.mercuryvehicles.com/) to locate dealers in your area by punching in all of your local zip codes one at a time. I hope this helps.
BTW, are you badly hurt?

Sorry to hear about your loss. :(
I'm to far from your area to have any clue what the dealerships there have, so the only thing I can ad is to follow Billy's advice.

Vic - Sorry to hear about your accident. Hope you are feeling better. Don't sign any documents from the ins. company until you consult an attorney or are completly satisfied with their settlement. Good luck.

Sorry to hear about your accident and glad that you are still with us. If the engine is still in good shape...maybe try and get the performance parts off of the car and return it to stock? That way you could sell off those parts to recoup some of the damages. I know I am looking for some parts. :D BTW, I, like you were, am going with a twin screw kit from Kenne Bell, however they already have a kit for the 2v Mustangs, and I will just need to modify it for my application. Then again...I may just get an Eaton M112 for that Ford factory look. ;)

Even if you ARE satisified with the settlement. Get with an attorney. You'd be surprised what positive results a nicely worded demand letter can get you. A hell of a lot more than the "inconvenience" money they're offering. An insurance company will only make an offer like that if they're trying to keep it out of court because they know it would become horribly more expensive.
The fact they're offering "inconvenience" cash just screams at me, go get a lawyer.

I don't want to hijack this thread though, so if I've provoked any questions from you, then you can send me a PM about it if you want me to be more specific, and give you more detail.

If you want me to check out Margate and pompano L/M I could do that for ya. Also try Delray L/M. RoyLPita might be able to help finding a MM as well. Hopefully your alright, and now it gives you a reason to get a MM.

PM me if you are interested in looking or a MM new and used. Also, is there a price for the totalled LX Sport? We have a member here who wouldn't mind turn his '99 CV HPP into a Sport clone (as long as yours has grey leather interior). Let me know.

Many times the property settlement can be done separately from other issues. The medical part is what really worries insurance companies most, in particular "pain and suffering". If you can get a decent cash settlement and KEEP THE CAR, then work out the rest of the settlement as a separate issue you will come out ok. That way you can take the settlement, sell the car (or parts), and get a decent replacement car (MARAUDER).

Roy L is probably talking about me as I was looking to do that. My plan has changed though as I found a 2002 LX sport and just took delivery on Friday. He is right though, you should try to buy the totaled Vic. The interior, wheels, Hi po stuff, even the HPP exhaust and suspension does have value for other CV and Grand Marquis owners.

LightningVic,
The very LAST thing you want to give to an insurance company is a handfull of receipts for MODIFICATIONS.
If they even get wind of any modifications, they have grounds to terminate your coverage, and dismiss your claim.
The Modifications do NOTHING to enhance the value of your vehicle, no matter how much you pay for them.
