Do these people keep their feet on the peddles while they try to move them? Causing the gear to break? Or it just gets brittle over time and breaks on its own?

Over time I would assume. I adjusted mine back in ‘04 along with my tilt wheel, seat, and HVAC controls. The only thing I fiddle with is the shifter and tunes. [emoji1303]

The gear is made out of plastic which turns a steel gear. The plastic dries out and breaks.

I also noticed while replacing mine that the travel got a little stiffer in the middle of the shaft, putting more stress on the gear as it passed.
