And now for a question which I should probably know the answer to, but don't. In my other post about the broken cigarette lighter, I mentioned checking the fuse box. I mean the one under the dash. Of course, there is a second fuse box under the hood, near the battery. The owner's manual shows the location and purpose of fuses in the box under the dash, but not for the box near the battery. What are all of those fuses for under the hood? Is there a diagram someplace of what they all go to?

The owners manual pages 138-144 do describe the location and description of the fuses under the dash and the ones under the hood.

The fuse for cigar lighter is under dash, location #25, 15 amp rating, page 141. I hope this is helpful.

Hi-- I looked in the manual in the index under "fuses" and it listed a couple of pages ( I think something like pages 137-138; don't have my manual here with me) so that's as far as I looked. Guess I should have looked a couple of pages further!
I checked the fuse that you mentioned, and it was good. Thanks

Ross, have you done any work behind dash ? Maybe a wire came loose, have you tried a different lighter to see if is the lighter or the socket, or maybe you have already determined that it is the lighter socket?

Smokie, check my other post about Lighter Not Working. I checked the other outlet in the console and it works. Haven't done anything behind the dash that could have torn anything loose.

Sorry Ross I missed the other post, is it possible some small object has fallen in outlet socket preventing a good contact ? I know, you probably already check for that, don't know what else to suggest short of taking a VOM. and checking center contact to different ground for voltage and checking side contact for continuity to another good ground.

Good idea. I think I will break out the voltmeter when I get home tonight.
