Today made a deal for a (new to me) Marauder. Looking forward to being active in the group again. Hopefully things be settled down with this coronavirus and I pick it up next month. 48,000 miles and few mods to help me get started. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200325/a1266808280361c28fe9cf0c840c44 a8.jpg

Nice! I was soooo close on selling mine to your son at the last Louisville. Actually I offered him an insane deal on my F150 and trailer thrown in as well. [emoji16]

I was seriously LURKING this car... and was hours from simply caving. NICE GET! After you get some time with it and wax it up, I'd love to see more photo's of it.
I am officially lurking a DTR now.

I had it narrowed down to this one and the one in Florida with 45,000. I liked the dark interior but he said it was going to need tires and I didn’t want to have to try and get a car ready to drive half way across the county. So after talking to joe several times and Moe’s I decided to get this one. Their is also a DTR in Nebraska with a trilogy but we couldn’t come together on the price.

Congrats on the DTR, always nice to see another one. One in Nebraska, same as this one consigned to Alsip Il? https://www.mcecars.com/vehicles/618/2004-mercury-marauder
Anyone know what it sold for? Looked very clean.

Looks the the rear bumper at a minimum got a re spray. Look at the pics under the trunk.

Hadn't noticed that, definitely looks like heavy overspray.

Are those road-draft tubes zip tied to the rear sway bar? Old School!

Re: Alsip Marauder
The underhood lamp from 2003 300A is a nice touch. Couldn't find the receptacle unless Mercury removed it for 2004. I knew eventually I would have Marauder's rear bumper resprayed. The shop that resprayed the bumper on Mustang last year removed the cover and reinstalled - paint seems to match perfectly. He stated he would do the same with Marauder.

Definitely like the underhood light. Been on the lookout for one of the ones out of a towncar in the wrecking yards here but haven't found one. Was told that they are all removed when the cars come into the yard due to hazardous waste (mercury switch). Not sure on the accuracy of that one since I can still buy them aftermarket.

Is the plug in the firewall harness gone for 2004 too? Didn't find one unless I'm blind. Back in the late '80s, the Ford Ranger XLT had an underhood lamp up through '87 - my newly purchased '88 had the plug in the harness but no lamp. I bought the lamp assembly/pigtail at the parts counter and cut a piece out of the hood insulation in the correct location. Traded the largely trouble free truck 13 years and 181k miles later. A new water pump and a/c dryer (converted to R134a) were the only serious repairs that I recall. Oooops, Ford paid to repaint it during the warranty period and I had it repainted too several years later. Now on my 4th Ranger...

Marauder left home yesterday for its new home in Louisiana. Swordfish and the Mrs. flew in yesterday and drove away in a fully serviced and detailed automobile - many extras too. I'm already heartbroken... :(

There is always sellers remorse after their MM disappears from sight.
