Hot Floors

Has anyone noticed floor boards getting too hot with aftermarket cats? If you have , can you make any sugestions on insulating or shielding.

I have not noticed this as of yet, and have done some really long trips. What kit are you using? The KOOKS cats seem normal to me.

There is a heat shield product available that you may be able to aplly to the underside of the floor boards. Call Summit Racing (Akron, Ohio) and ask.

I haven't noticed this either...I don't recall ever seeing this concern posted before dispite lots of exhaust system mods. represented on the board- I think something's wrong with your setup.

I'm using Dennis' kit. The cats don't seem any closer to the floor than stock but the shield on the cats are different. I noticed this because my carpets to the right front of the drivers seat is balloned up just bit. Thanks for the lead on Summit Racing. :)

I've had DR's kit for a few weeks now and haven't noticed any heat problems. Took a long drive from Houston to San Antonio, so it should have showed up.
