So...in a couple of days, I will have had my Marauder 18 years! Got mine June 2 2002. It is still my daily drive with about 154,000 miles on it. Still going strong, looking good and loads of fun to drive!

A 4PP car?I was thinking the same thing. What # do you have, if you know?

I've owned mine since June of 2003. I purchased it used with 7500 miles. It now has 123K miles. I drive mine just about every day. Short 22 mile round trip drive to work each day. It's got a little rust here and there. A member here thought mine was a Mercury Regional or District manger car since it had a Michigan title. OASIS showed all service work done at a Ford dealer in Dallas, TX.

My car, sold June 6, 2002, has been documented as the first "retailed" 2003 Marauder sold (first regular production car sold). That being said, I know at least one 4PP (pre-production) car was sold by a dealer prior to my sale. The owner of that car has since sold it (I forget who). Thus my question.

I could not have told you what 4PP was either :-). All I can say is that I bought it from my Lincoln Mercury dealer in Santa Clarita California on June 2, 2002. I believe it to be the first one purchased in Southern California.

Based on what I said above, I'm confident that if you look into it you will find you have one of the 24 pre-production cars (4PP), and have owned a 2003 Marauder longer than anyone else, including myself (damn it :) )

Don't Pre-production Marauders have a VIN that ends with 6000##?

How would one "look into it"?

This doesn't make sense to me.

If you want to see the sales document that Steve Babcock gave me (retail cars) follow this link and look at the bottom of the page https://sites.google.com/a/wmich.edu/supermarauder/home/marauder-history

You could get the Certificate that documents your Marauder's build information

Hope you don't misunderstand me. I am not challenging you or doubting you. I was just curious when you mentioned looking into it. I don't care :-) I am just happy as can be to have this car and be a part of this community from the very beginning (being member 76). I have seen some of your other posts before and I am always entertained, enlightened and informed by this community! Thanks for your conversation!

Looks Like I Was Just Wrong!

I looked at that spread sheet you directed me to and there were two cars listed sold by my dealership, Magic Lincoln-Mercury. One on 7/2/02 and one on 9/29/02. My sales contract is in storage but based on that list I must assume I just remembered incorrectly and purchased mine 7/2 not 6/2. Please excuse me as I am old and it was 18 years ago (almost)! :-)

This list really is interesting! Thanks!

Weird! Excel won't open it, says file is corrupted. Can only view in browser window.

I checked the sell date of the first 2200 or so on his list and darn, it stops 8 days before my sell date thus my car is not listed//phooey.

The Site was down since Sunday, so this last Monday, the 22nd, was 18 years since Black Terror and myself picked up our MARAUDERs at a dealership that had already closed it's doors. I'd spent the previous week on the phone with every person i could get on the phone both locally and in Dearborn (even Elena Ford's office) to get my (our) cars delivered to the Dealer, even though it was nearly 100% shuttered. They didn't want to deliver but I cut a deal with the 'Internet sales Guy". Bill got there early and picked up his car 1st, I got the other one. I'd been on a wait list for more than a year and a half, and he ordered about 6 months out. Although our meeting was brief that day, we became fast (literally Supercharged) friends till this day. I was behind the wheel last Saturday...blowing some carbon off the plugs. She STILL gets comments EVERY time we are out!
