Rear window trim

The clear coat in this area has deteriorated over the past couple of years and looks like crap now. I would like to have the strip next to the rear window painted, but I'm unsure how to remove it. Is it held down by the rear quarter panel? Is an adhesive strip holding it in place? Anyone removed one before?

you have to remove rear seat.then need to remove the interior rear 1/4s then there are 3 or 4 nuts to remove to release trim. the lower one is a booger.
