Is this Monroe front shock a good option?

Or should I go with Motorcraft? It's more expensive though.

I like my KYB front struts.
I suggest replacing the mounts also.
I have a set of brand new KYB mounts that were missing when I moved.

I second KYB. I have them all the way around and have been happy. I hear good things about the Monroe HD version for Police and Taxi but the standard Monroe are typically too soft for our spring rate.

Get severe duty Monroe.

My front KYB struts lasted about 190,000 miles before I replaced them.
My right rear shock is now leaking after about 215,000 miles. Replacing this week with new KYB shocks and mounts.

I had Monroe severe duty shocks put on my car all around approx 7 years/100,000 miles ago...no problems and the front isn't as 'bouncy' as it was before the new shocks were put in.

Just double checking part KYB numbers.

Front: 551602
Rear: 555603

What is the SM526 rear mount kit? Rock Auto shows a SM5267 kit for $8.00.

Those are the correct part numbers. The SM5267 is replacement rear upper hardware (nuts, washers, and possibly a new rubber bushing). That is based on the product info at shockwarehouse.com. I did not get the replacement hardware but that was a long time ago. If your rubber bushing is not in good shape then I would recommend that you confirm that the bushing is included, if it is get them.

Thanks for the help. I'll order the SM5267 kit. It's cheap enough. Curt
