Maybe the godawful heat in the south is worth being able to drive year-round ;)

See, now that it’s winter down here in GA we get sub-zero temperatures such as 55 degrees or maybe even 40!

I've been down in GA a few times during late spring/mid-summer...gimme the heat any day. I can drive a car year round in that.

Up here, if you want to keep a car clean, your safest bet is to pick up a cheap winter beater, toss some snow tires on it, and prepare for it to rust into oblivion. My new one:

This replaces my 2004 LX (which I bought from pantheroc)...the trunk floor rusted out on that one and the driver's floorpan was about to follow suit. It's a field car at my buddy's farm now.

All is well as long as your A/C works! The first few months of ownership my A/C barely worked which was great in the summer heat but I finally got around to topping off the refrigerant a few months ago and she's ice cold.
