Hi All,
After searching here and crownvic.net I can't seem to find an overwhelming answer. Can a MM front bumper cover and fog lights be mated to my 03 LX Sport. This is a mod I'd love to do if possible. But I saw conflicting info about it. Some said it took serious modification others said some trimming, etc. Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks,
B.J.
P.S. the screen name was supposed to be GrampsHandMeDown as a tribute to my second car, the 86 Grand Marquis I got from my Grandpa. So no wise cracks!

I don't know what "trimming" it would need.
The contour for the bottom of the grille may be different, but looks close. You may need some of the "behind the cover" parts from the Marauder as well.
They are not cheap!

Since it is the same model year as a Marauder, I would say that mounting it would be easier than if I wanted to do this. I have thought about it a lot...and a front cover from an MM costs about $1200 from the dealership I talked to. Not something I want to spend if I don't have to. Also...the "dip" on the top of the cover is smaller on the MM than the CV, so the CV grille will not physically fit with the MM cover. I measured this myself more than once, and it just will not work. The only way I see a MM style front cover on a CV is to take a mold of the lower portion of the MM cover, and a mold of the upper portion of the CV cover. Mate the upper and lower together and fabricate a hybrid cover. Besides, the "trim channels" (or whtever they're called) are different on the MM than the CV, so it would look odd down the side of the car to see a line from the rear to the front door, then it jumps out of line at the front bumper cover. One way to solve that would be to get a rear bumper cover...but then it would say "MARAUDER" and your car is a CV. Hope that helps...and if I ever get around to fabricating the hybrid cover, I'll let everyone know. :D

Welcome!!!
No wise cracks at all. My 1st car was a 1971 Chevy Nova my gramps left me when he passed away and I still have it. I actually just finished a mild restoration to it....very mild resto. :D More like a redone interior, new dual exhaust with headers and glasspacks to replace the cast iron manifolds, and a just lots of cleaning.
About the MM front bumper, the CV grill is narrower than the MM grill so it won't fit without custom work. You'd need the whole header panel from a 2003-04 MM or Grand Marquis but after that, you'd need the headlights, corners lights, an grill. I had a 2002 CV LX Sport and I contemplated the same thing and after much research, was too much $$$ for all you get so I did some of my own custom work....then traded my 2002 CV a month later for a Marauder. :D

^^^what he said^^^
It CAN be done, but how much sweat and $$$ are you willing to put out to make your already good looking Sport into "half a Marauder"? Spend the money on performance mods...

GrampsHandMeDown - Welcome to the MM site. :) IMO it would probably cheaper to trade in your CV for a Marauder. The cost of the modification would cost big $'s.

As all the others have said ... doable but at the co$t of - 1) header panel, 2) grille, 3) facia ( which IIRC includes the driving light hardware ).
Match-up to the fenders isn't a problem, though to install the Marauder corner lights you need to ...
1) drill 2 holes in the header ( each side ) for the mounting studs,
2) trim the existing corner light tab ( back - screw ),
3) remove a tab on the electrial connector.
*All NBD.
A thought ( 'cause I too like the look of the facia / driving lights ) is ...
From a salvaged Marauder and Crown Vic, trim the facias so that the upper part of the CV can be grafted to the lower part of the MM - just below the CV's trim strip.
*Volarie! Urethra!
Alas ... Due to previously missed opportunities, the quest continues.
