I need to change my driver door lock motor.
Is it going to work out correctly if I do not remove the rivet holding the mounting bracket and pry out the motors from their brackets and install the new motor in the old bracket?
Any general comments on the job?
Thanks,
Jay

I have done exactly that. However, make ABSOLUTE sure the new one goes in exactly like the old one came out. Once you finagle the new one on, all of a sudden, so many holes, so many positions, forward or backward??? Even mark the old one before removal and transfer it to the new one.

Very nice video.
I am using a ford unit so won't have the boot issue. With the aftermarkets two small tie wraps used as clamps one at the boot top and one at the boot bottom might work. particularly the top i think.

Leave the oem rivet. Just remove the square lock unit from the two holes. Spread the holder and the lock actuator falls out.
No rivet required.
Look at the new part and you will see what I am talking about
