I've got just over 13K on my ride and the middle of my back tires is getting near replacement time. I've read enough that it looks like a common problem. Tire pressure was maintained, never been to the strip and very few burnouts done on them. What tires are you replacing the BFG's with and are you keeping the stock size?

I got about 25k miles with mine with some "agressive" usage. Went with OEM replacements. Cheap enough for street use on an N/A car, and I've thought the BFG "g-Force" tire has pretty good weather performance. Tire Rack's got them on special for $89.

I don't know what the heck I'm going to do for the winter.

Replaced front and rear with stock BFGs at 19,500. I purchased the tires and had them installed locally. I founfd that if Tire Rack has them on sale, I can get a price that is very close locally. If I have any problems, I'd rather deal with the business that sold and installed them.

Only BFG makes the rear size tire. According to the Tire Rack, there are 21 (including stock BFG that are available for the front. Go figure.

Thanks for the tip. I checked them a few weeks ago and the price was $109. Just ordered a set of rears for $89.

03SilverStreak; The 40 series Tire sizes you mentioned will fit the stock 18 x 8 rims but both have smaller diameters than the stock KDWs. It will change your effective gear ratio (may screw up the antilock brakes & OD). They will DEFINITELY deteriorate your MM's ride quality due to the shorter sidewall of the tires

no no no, seriously? there's NO OTHER BRAND of tire that i'd switch to....i was actually considering switching brands because of the wear (which obviously not all the tires' fault)...I changed my rears after 8000 miles....now i have 17000 and getting ready to change the fronts in a few thousand and same with the rear....there is no other tire with such superior dry traction and even wet.....in the winter?...it still kicks ass...i'd rather drive my MM than my 03 Acura TL-S (FWD). STAY WITH STOCK! good luck -shawn
