Regarding the title of this thread, is there any company that is selling remanufactured units of this part, or are we at the mercy of Ebay and Amazon?

It is known as the drivers door module (DDM), theres no aftermarket ones that I am aware of. They are plentiful in junk yards though. I replaced mine and picked up a spare from the local pick and pull yard just in case that one ever goes on me too.

The DDM? I have a spare on the shelf. Pretty much there's 30,000,000 of them and the door key code is right on it. Then cycle the ignition like the instructions say and program your fobs to it. Many of the platform shared parts are plentiful. The appearance items that get snapped up by wannabe's and tacked onto Poverty Vics are what keep me awake at night.
