Is this line supposed to be capped

When I turn off the car sometimes it sounds like I stepped on a cat and sometimes when I start it I hear a pop thud come from climate control and then when I’m driving I notice the center vents are half closed and I didn’t close them

also I don’t have cruise control anymore I assumed the stereo place screwed something up cause steering controls don’t work yet before I could adjust temp…. And before stereo and before they pulled the motor they worked 52283

Did you install aftermarket radio? You need a steering wheel control interface module for the controls to work.

Like Rubbercty said, you need a Steering wheel interface to get the controls to work on an aftermarket head unit. If they did install one and they still don't work, and your cruise also doesn't work I'd say your clock spring needs to be replaced.

This sounds like two different problems. Have you done an EATC self-diagnosis test for the vent noises? To enter the self-test, press the OFF and FLOOR buttons simultaneously and then press the AUTOMATIC button within two seconds. The display will show a pulse tracer going around the center of the display window. The test may run as long as 30 seconds. Record all DTCs displayed.

As far as the other issue other have chimed in.
