My black now has 272,000 miles with the original fuel pump.
Car runs great until the engine gets really hot say 20-30 minutes.
Then the car develops a miss - a very noticeable miss. It gets worse in reverse.
I've tried turning on the Air Conditioning to see if there was more of a strain on the fuel delivery,
but there is no noticeable difference. I've also put the engine computer under a scan while running.
Computer finds no problem,

In my experience...very recent experience as in 2 months ago...when the fuel pump goes out, it does so without any type of 'warning' or indication it's about to go...

In my Silver, the car would start then if I stopped it might not start again for several hours. This happened for several days.
Then finally the pump gave out completely while at my mechanics.

My original one maxed out at around 4,000 RPMs and up (when it acted up) Of course I NEVER seemed to have my XCal data logging at the time so this went on for almost a full year.
If you have an XCal, data log FPDC. Hint: 49% equals maxed out.

Computer finds no problem, Seems odd that you notice a "miss", but the diagnostic equipment doesn't. Could it be a touch of water in the gas?

I was just relaying my experience. Drove car to destination no problems, then when I got in car to get home no start. No missing or any other kind of issues prior to pump failure.

So, I tested the fuel pressure in both cars to see of the fuel pump was going out in black.
To refresh, black has 272,000 miles. When the engine gets hot, the engine starts to shake, like an engine miss.
I tested black's fuel pressure in this condition. Black's pressure was around 32-34, while silver (for comparison) seemed lower at 30.
Does anybody have any idea why the engine starts to shake? Could it be the Air Idle Control Valve? I have replaced it once before.

Test the fuel pump duty cycle.

Just for reference, mine went out a couple of months ago, 63,000 miles. I shut the car off one day then 10 minutes later started car and started running rough and rougher as it ran till dies and would not restart. Waited 1/2 hour and restarted. Tested the same way I drove when it happened the first time, did same turn off, go back 10 minutes and did same thing, rough running till stall and not restart for 1/2 hour. Contacted Marty who asked for Duty cycle readings at idle, part throttle, and highway speeds, and he said looks like fuel pump starting to go out. Replaced with Aeromotive 340, been good so far, does not happen anymore. Since I was able to duplicate it multiple times and now it does not happen pretty confident is fixed.

But my problem only occurs after the care has been running for a while. Thinking it's a bad coil or the air idle control valve.

I had my fuel pump replaced at 157,000 miles. I had a Ford pump installed.
I stopped for gas and when I attempted to restart all it did was crank.
I remove a hose from the left side of engine and sprayed starter fluid directly into the plenum and it started and shut off.
That proves the engine was not getting fuel.

My fuel pump went out several years ago just cruising down the highway. Suddenly no power and then the engine stalled and had to nurse it to the shoulder. Never had a warning before that.

Exactly sounds like a bad fuel pump. Get the Delphi from RA and don't look back.

** FIXED **
So today, I changed the car back to its original factory tune so it can be Smogged next month. After 30 minutes, the engine light came on, Code P0356, P0356 is a generic OBD II diagnostic code that indicates an issue with the ignition coil “F” (the sixth cylinder). Pulled the driver's side coil cover and replaced the COP. Reset the engine diagnostic code, no more shaking! Apparently, the 2004 Reinhardt tune turns off all the OBD II diagnostic code readers.
