What is this disc I found lodged in the door jamb?

I opened the driver's side door and found a thin black plastic disc near the bottom of the door jamb below the hinge. Does anyone know what it is or is for? My initial thought is that it slipped down there from somewhere higher up. Any help would be appreciated.52595

It looks like a hood insulation retainer.

You're right! That's exactly what it looks like. So, I go and lift the hood and count 12. It doesn't appear that any are missing. Does 12 sound right?
