I was wondering if our recommended Dot #3 brake fluid is comparable with Dot#4 and Dot 5.1 for our Marauder. There is a video I watched on Rock Auto when looking at brake fluids. My understanding after watching the video is the other fluids would be fine. I just want to be sure and not ruin anything. TY

I have no real world experience with DOT 5 or 5.1 but the internet says 3, 4 and 5.1 are compatible and 5 is not compatible with anything. Personally I would stay away from 5 for that reason.

The glycol-based brake fluids include DOT3, DOT4, Super DOT4 and DOT5.1. DOT5 is a silicon-based brake fluid and does not mix with the glycol-based types. Most cars use DOT4, but always check your handbook for guidance.
In general, the lower the number, the lower the fluid’s boiling point.
