Hello Group, I'm Raymond from Monarch, Alberta Canada. I've purchased my father in-laws 2003 marauder. Although it hasn't quite made it home, I didn't want to hesitate joining and reading your forums. I do have the original bill of sale and am the third owner.

serial number 2MEHM75V83X650848, bill of sale reads Dec 6th 2002, but I have no idea how many were imported into Canada , what the build sheet reads or what number build the car would be or the exact build day either.

I'm excited to drive the 4.6 double overhead cam. I am familiar with the Mod motors a bit as my drag car is a Coyote with twins.

Hope to meet more Mercury owners and maybe some that are from Canada too.

Best regards

Raymond Huppee

Welcome aboard. I believe there are just a few differences with the Canadian market Marauders. One of the neat things is the rare km/h speedometer! You will be surprised at how slow the stock Marauder is. At a minimum, get a tune from Mo's Speed Shop! The factory tune has variable torque converter lockup, making it feel like it's always hunting for gears. The tune will fix that and make it a more enjoyable driving experience. 4.10 gears help too.

Thank you for the welcome and the information, I will search out Moe's speed shop for sure for a tune. Sounds like a night and day upgrade. If its an 8.8 diff, i have quite a few choices for gears as that's what I run in my drag car. must be a 3:55 or something similar from factory hey ? This will be the hiway cruiser. hopefully not rack up too many miles. its got under 130,000 kms now ( 80,000 miles ).

cheers

You may want to read up further cuz they were built in Canada so yours was never imported. Unless yours was a US car imported into Canada and you'll never learn that answer.

Knowing so much about the Marauder, I wonder why you're not a contributing forum member?

sorry , I assumed that it was built in the US and imported to Canada. I haven't had much time to research as I fly north to work but as soon as I'm home ill visit the dealership with my serial number and get it broken down. Its very interesting that its made back east and the history is cool too. very happy to be receiving this from my father in law. Ill research Mo's speed shop now and see how they do their remote tunes. with the race car i use all Holley so that's easy , just uncertain as to use with the stock ECU's.

cheers
Raymond

With a stock car you don't necessarily need to remote tune. But if you choose to it's very easy and Marty and Jeff (Moe's Speed Shop) are very good at what they do. I've remote tuned with them a bunch of times thru the years.

I Spoke with Mo's, great place imo. looks like they will send the programmer with the loaded tune. I also ordered the certificate that MR.Man suggested. I cant wait to see what its production number is.

If you don't have a window sticker, I hear this company can print a reproduction.

Only trying to help the newbies out. Some quick research about the car first before worrying about a tune is always best in my book. As a Cdn, I would think he/we should be proud they were made up here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercury_Marauder

I had done a bit of research, but assumed it was produced in the US and imported into Canada. I'm not worried about a tune as much as i am with the transmission hunting between gears which is why I joined the forums. This car wont be modified other than that. My foxbody cures any performance tune needs I may have. I appreciate your input 69Postss.

thats a great write up. Looks like the plant sat for 10 years vacant until a developer bought it. sad really.

That is a wicked picture of all the marauders at the plant.
