I want/need to replace my shocks @ 160K miles.

I want closest to original stock, of available.

Is this what I need for the fronts?

Thanks!

Don't go with quick struts, I would have to imagine those are incredibly genericized to work across all range of crown vic and grand marq which means you'll most likely end up nose high and softer sprung.

Shock options aren't great for these cars, your best replacement is going to be what most people have grabbed for years, the KYB's and keep the factory coil springs

I replaced my OEM shocks with Monroe Severe (or Super?) Duty 12 years/125k miles ago and they're still shockin'...

Where in N. GA are you located? My brother lives in Ringgold.

Gabriel still makes the correct shocks (not strut assembly) for the front. Just bought a set last month.

I'm not sure if you need to replace your rear suspension as well, but if you need to replace the rear airbag springs, I'd recommend getting airbags that are advertised as for the Lincoln Town Car Limo. I believe Arnott and Suncore make them. The limousine air springs are more heavy duty than the OEM ones. I'm running Arnott Limo airbags on my car with no issues.

Do you have a part number?

I don't know if I need new airbags. I don't know much about the suspension. I have had the car since new and am still on the original shocks after 160K (except for one leaking rear that was replaced shortly after new.

The car just feels kind of bouncy now, and I assumed it was probably time for new shocks. I will have them look at everything else while they're under there.

Seems like the KYBs with the stock springs have been the most successful for guys here, so I will probably go with that unless I'm given a reason not to.

Thanks for all the input!

KYB's were always considered the poor man's Koni's. If they don't leak in the first couple thousand miles, they'll last you a long time.

Just to let you know, the northeast GA Mustang club moved their annual meet up venue/location to Hiawassee 2 years ago and at that time we had 6 Marauder owners show up for it. They hold it towards the end of September; last year's meet up was impacted by Helene (they pushed it back a week), so no one went. Just something to keep on the back burner for later this year.

I replaced my airbags last April at 180k miles when the passenger side developed a slow leak...they were TRASHED and if I had known beforehand I would have swapped them out sooner. Just something to think about. I got the Suncore brand for around $75-80 and they have been working fine so far.

You're due for shocks for sure, and maybe more. I rebuilt the entire front suspension on my 03 Marauder at 150k miles and the BJ's were worn and the bushings were all shot.

I did do rear airbags on that car, not because they leaked but because the rubber was so dry rotted they were crumbling apart. I figured I'd do it before I had an issue, I actually put Ford OEM HPP spec airbags in which is what our cars had new. Give yours a visual inspection see how they look, if they don't leak and they look good I wouldn't worry about em for now personally.

Problem is these cars have NEVER had good aftermarket shock options outside of the ridetech coilovers. All the offerings have been D tier for years, I wouldn't call Monroe or Gabriel high quality OEM equivalents either.
