To all 2004 MM owners,
Need to know what Base Computer code (look at Driver's doorframe) a 2004 MM comes with.
I am negotiationg to buy a 2004 MM built Sept 2003.
I need to know what the base code for this car should be and what Updates software-wise have been done and are available since then from people who have Recent Build dates (say April, May or June '04). This way I can ask the Service Dept to reflash memory with the <xyz> updates.

I'll look for that code tonight when I pick up the car.
Any further info on any Ford Updates since then?

That's probably the only one but others may know more. The programming is to my liking so I don't let 'em change it.

Where did you end up buying from Safford? I just bought an 04 Silver from King.

I wound up buying a `fresh' '04 DTR from Safford that we went together to Virginia, Brown LM in Fairfax, checked out and drove back to MD. I drove a GM base model over and the MM (that we would sign for 1 day later) back! What a difference in ride and handling & power!!!
I even got the `factory' sunroof with the car -- built mid-June '04. My wife was concerned about the prev. one we found that Safford got for us from Manhattan LM that had been sitting around in/outside for 9 months. I agreed with her and Safford found us another one that I had already located, but kept quiet about.
I gatta say this: Safford went far outa their way to satisfy me and my wife even though I was using the Ford A-Plan (employee plan pricing, son-in-law works as engineer for Ford, Dearborn MI).
