Last weekend I finally had the Trilogy supercharger kit installed in my car. But even better, Bill Bowker, aka Marauderer, did the install for me.

Bill recently bought a little 2 liter 2-seater rocket that he is installing a turbo kit on. His wife really wanted the Marauder, but sans turbo.

Bill's dilemma became my opportunity, and one very quick weekend later, I am the proud owner of Trilogy kit No. 9. Even better, Bill did the J-Mod on the tranny, replaced the fuel pump, used the upgraded intercooler...and the list goes on.

So does the car. It is a whole different experience to have that power and to hear the awesome whine of the supercharger.

My thanks to Bill for his outstanding work. Not only did he install the supercharger and the extras, he took the time to help me get and understand the SCT tuning software, the Air/Fuel meter, how to understand the tune---again, the list goes on. Bill was almost overconscientious in making sure I understood every decision and every part of the install, and has offered to keep working with me on further development.

I only wish the guy was a true vendor--I can't believe anyone could beat him for integrity or service.

I am glad to join the gang of supercharged Marauders. Based on my short experience it is well worth the expense, and makes a great car even better.

Any chance he might do it for a stranger from just south of the Cities?

I'll be in the market for a s/c but not for a few months.

I was planning on traveling to MI...but if Bill could do it :)

I too would be interesting in learning about many of the extras you talked about.

Also...I'd like to see and or take a ride in a Trilogy MM before spending the money.

Any assistance would be helpful.

Thanks!

First, welcome to the Trilogy Marauder S/C club !
Second, Bill took the s/c off the Marauder and installed it on your car?
This may be the first s/c Marauder that is returned back to stock.

Also please tell Bill we miss him and all his automotive knowledge. Thanks and good luck with the car. :P

Sorry, he's not missed here, nor welcome. He was banned for a reason. As were certain other individuals that I've "overlooked".

That being said, Welcome to the S/C club... :D

I too would like to know if you mean that you simply bought Bill's S/Cer and had it installed on your car, or if you bought his car just as Marauder S/C #5 has asked. I also was wondering if you're going to take it to the track to see what ET you'll turn, because as much extra testing and work as Bill put into his car AFTER the S/Cer installation, I was surprised when he told me that he was still running the factory stock street tires on it, and that he never even took it to the track. I mean to me it's almost a crime not to take a car that's pushing 450 RWHP to the track atleast once to see what it will turn.

I stopped by last weekend while Bill was doing the changeout. He did remove the Trilogy#9 s/c from his black 2003 Marauder and install it into Mike's 2004 DTR Marauder. He was able to pull off Mikes intake/fuel rails/etc. and just bolt it up to his old car. He got his Marauder running with just the SCT chip and his own tune, and said he was amazed at how well it performs even without the s/c especially when comparing it to Mike's stock 2004.

Mike, you've got a very nice ride there sir. I'd like to meet up with you again sometime and take a ride in your car with the s/c installed. Take a look at the Twin Cities regional forum. We are having a meet this weekend and Five-O may be joining us! Having a Trilogy car there would really be sweet!

As Mike said, Bill is an outstanding, contientious and knowledgable individual on these cars. Mike, I think both you and he benefitted equally by the swap.

That said, Bill did finally get some BFG drag radials on his car and make a trip to the track with a couple of us back in April. He was never really satistfied with his tune during that day and was tweaking it after every few runs, but I can tell you he was running mid-12's @ 114-115 MPH or so. That is with the Trilogy kit as the only mod to the car (OK the tranny was J-modded). No headers/x-pipe, stock 3.55 gears, no PI Torque Converter, no new control arms, not even widened rims. BillyG, as you have stated before, the Trilogy kit is the first and only real mod you need to do to make your Marauder go fast. So yes, he did get his car to the track, but only once that I know of.

I'm sure Bill put all of his knowledge and experience into tuning Mikes car and that Mike has a very safe yet powerful tune. Mike, we want dyno sheets and timeslips from your car! Let me know when you are going to the track and I may join you.

Todd

HookedonCV, thanks for that info.

As far as what Bill did or didn't do, and the fact that he was banned, I would never get into all of that, since there's absolutely no reason to do so. What happened was between the parties involved, and I wasn't one of them. But I've spoken to Bill over the phone more than once about Marauders, and S/Cing, and he helped me out a lot, and patiently answered my questions. So although I have no problem w/Bill, and I think he's helpful to people in general, I don't want to get into the politics of that matter. I'd rather just talk about what his car had or didn't have. :D

To confirm, yes, Bill de-blowered (sounds a bit dirty put that way) and installed his entire kit on my car. Interestingly, he had to change the tune quite a bit--so 03 to 04 must be significant.

I will post slips and dyno when/if I get to them. Right now, I must admit to being a bit intimidated by all the power. It is really amazing to feel the charge when the supercharger whines. But what really surprises me is how "stock" it feels--obscenely powerful, but still like the car was designed that way. At moderate throttle movements, the supercharger comes on very sweetly, just a natural extension of the power band.

I would be remiss if I did not also say hats off to the outstanding engineers at Trilogy and to Lidio, who I understand helped in the development.

All the parties, from FoMoCo to Bill, did a great job!

By the way--Todd, I am hoping to make it to Como Park tomorrow to see you and hopefully FiveO. If not, I will email you about getting together.

Thanks!

Haviong installed the Trilogy Blower kit in my car I can tell you that it makes the engine compartment look so beautiful having that think sitting right on top of the engine. IMO the way the Trilogy blower looks is one of it's strong points. There's no plumbing pipes crossing over or across the width of your engine compartment or anything like that. Just a blower sitting right smack in the center, and directly on top of the engine just like on a dragster engine, but smaller. I Luv it.

I'm looking around the house right now for items I don't need so I can eBay 'em...like food, my furnace, air conditioner, clothes, my tv's, computers, shoes and Hmmm...wonder if I can auction off my first born? :D

Gotta get this 99 SHO sold! That would do it. I've got it listed at $7800...wonder what that would buy ;) :)

Finally, I definately should thank Logan for this site, since that is how I came to learn enough about the Marauder to buy one. And, more importantly, this site helped me meet some extraordinary local folks, especially Marauderer, but also HookedonCV and Five0, who share a passion for this car!

Funny how having a car you only used to dream about can make a guy thankful.......

Good luck selling the SHO, I had a hell of a time getting rid of mine. Just for reference, I sold my '97 SHO in early '01 for $8200. I think the book value was close to $10K. The car was in excellent condition, had 58K miles, every option available, and included the pricey Borla catback exhaust. Eventually a local women bought it to replace her '94 SHO after seeing my ad on the shoforum. It is a unique vehicle that appeals to a narrow audience, you just have to find the right buyer.

If your getting rid of your winter beater does that mean you are going to drive the Marauder year round? I would be interested to see how a supercharged Marauder handles in the white stuff.

My V-8SHO per 3 dealers would only take her on trade because she had 6 months left on the Ford warranty. All 3 had an experience with having to shell out for a new SHO motor due to the cam sprockets spinning.

My cam sprockets are already welded. Theres never been a failure of a welded cam.

But yes...the resale sucks.

If I don't get out of it what I need to...I'm keeping it as the winter beater.

If she does sell I'm going to buy another winter car. May look at a Gen 2 SHO or two.

I have my SHO listed at $7800 and this has slowly come down from $8500 where I originally listed it.

I got an offer today for $7K but countered at $7400. We'll see! And I hope that didn't just jinx me...!
