 Throttle Body Bypass on a 4.6L ??

I have performed this modification on my 94 LT1 (very common mod for Impala's, etc.) and noticed that it is a very, very easy project for the MM's.

Has this ever been discussed?
Is it even of any benifit to a 4.6L Ford/Merc motor?

Seems to be a guy could simply insert 2 brass valves into the 1/4" lines at the TB and bypass the coolant. Probably a $10.00 and 20 minute thing.

Any thoughts?

Unless I'm missing something, the Marauder does not have a heated throttle body...

Right? (or wrong)

There is a water connection to the upper intake manifold where the passenger side pcv connects. One member has bypassed that connection, I believe it was Flash. He reported that this mod along with a restrictor plate between the egr valve and upper intake made an obvious difference in the temperature of the upper intake but he did not have any dyno testing done. The restrictor plate reduces the amount of heated air that enters the intake from the exhaust and he experimented a bit, finding that too small of a hole resulted in a check engine light. I believe the smallest sixe that would work for him was 0.080. I put a restrictor plate on mine at 0.125 just to be safe. Dyno testing was not done immediately before/after but were done a few weeks before and after with no noticeable difference. I did not bypass the coolant tubes yet, but may try that also.
