View Full Version : Remote IAT in Blown Applications?

Anybody running the Pro-M MAF sensor with remote IAT sensor mounted in a pressurized tube on a centrifugal supercharged car? If so, does the grommet that mounts it actually hold it in place under pressure?

Dennis's kit has a bung welded into the intake pipe which allows you to relocate the OAT (outside air temp sender) into the bung.
You simply press the outside temp button on the climate control panel to check the IAT.
It screws with the heater temp settings in the winter, but who drives their MM in the winter anyway?

Yeah, I'm not sure if anybody running Dennis' kit has changed to the Pro-M yet. The OEM MAF sensor has the IAT sensor built in to it. The Pro-M does not, so it would be easy to use the temperature before or after the blower or intercooler for tuning. I'm thinking the closer to the throttle body, the more accurate the tuning could be. The real answer I'm looking for is "will the grommet actually hold the sensor in place under pressure"?

And I drive mine year round but the intake temperature before the blower should be the same as outside temp anyway, shouldn't it?

Just a side note here:

You better believe that those of us who've purchased the Michelin Arctic Alpine snow tire & wheel package for all four corners drive our Marauders all year including through snow storms. My Marauder does it all. It has to since it's my only car now. :)

I have installed the IAT in the discharge pipe many times with a rubber gromet and it does not blow out

Thank you very much Dennis.
